It might have been b2. It was the major 60,000 km one. Plus I have p31 and the LSD. Tran fluid and the lot. And $1200 including 13 % tax

I'm a tech and i have a 09 C63 and some of these dealers in Toronto are insane. At my shop i would have to charge you like $150 for the install just because it's not my shop (the owner does have to pay bills), but at my house or yours it would be FREE my friend. You'll see and learn how easy it is to do brakes on these cars and the next time you might even try it yourself.

Either you`re measuring it wrong or you do a TONNE of highway mileage.

I literally did my front pads & rotors just yesterday and although I`m sure I could have held off for another 5K if I really really wanted to, I figured I already got 70K out of them, I may as well replace them now. And contrary to what others have said about MB dealerships wanting to stick it to us, my indy shop confirmed that my fronts were done after they pulled them off the car. And no, my indy shop did not sell me anything because I brought all my own rotors & pads.

Which brings me to the OP`s question. I do not have the 2-pc rotors so I was able to bring the cost down significantly by ordering my rotors through getmercedesparts.com. Like someone else mentioned in this thread - $127 per rotor! Brake pad wear sensor ran me $15 and I went aftermarket on the pads, opting for Racing Brake ET500 pads at $230 for the front set. Total cost breakdown:

Rotors & sensor - $340 shipped
Front pads - $230 shipped
Labour (indy shop) - $140

FYI, replacing the rotors on the C63 is no different from any other car so that quote you got from that dealer is still very high - go to a reputable indy shop, I`m pretty sure you`ll save $200 - $300 on labour.

Do you even know the thickness of the rotors new or after 50K of hard city driving?

Thanks for sharing what your indy tells you about a 1 piece rotor.

I seen with my own eyes and measured with my own hands the thickness of the rotors (with calipers) and yes I have TONS of meat left on them. I have used 1mm of wear with 50K km of hard city driving.

So ya, I can almost guarantee the guys rotors are fine unless he's been doing some serious track events. I never said they would last 150K km. I simply said he doesn't need new ones yet. If you want to **** away cash on rotors by all means go hard

If I was buying 127 $ rotors like yours I wouldn't really care either, but when the 2 piece OEM are 1200+ each I think we should be a bit more efficient with them..

For you more resourceful canucks Canadian Tire's ATE rotors work just fine ... very good quality ... just paid $80 for a set of rears and they are quite nice.
I run these on all my vehicles and no warpage. AND they stayed on sale this week!! Enjoy

PS - I run a 2009 c350 and a 93' 600sl

They're called stealerships for a reason. I don't know why you don't just do them yourself... it's ridiculously easy. I've NEVER payed someone to do my brakes.

Irrelevant and pointless question. All that matters to me is that after about 70K kms, my fronts measured 33.7 mm so they were pretty close to the wear limit. Unless you're telling me they have a significantly different alloy in the 2-pc rotors that magically allows them to last double the mileage to justify them being 5x the cost of my pedestrian 1-PC rotors. Give me a break.

And for the record, if you REALLY wanted everyone to save a few bucks, slap on some of these lowly $127 1-PC replacements - they fit all C63s the same. At this price, it almost seems foolish to pay for 2-PC rotors.

^^ brake wear varies from car to car depending on ppl driving habits. I think the point here is to check the wear ourselves rather than believing what the dealer said.

That's a good figure for me to keep in mind. Of course, anything that has to do with cars are much cheaper for us here in the US. See what people are paying around the world and I feel so fortunate to be a car lover in the USA.

Exactly. Get a good quality micrometer, ie Mitutoyo or Starrett; not very expensive on ebay. Get the specs from the dealer and measure them yourself.

Your dealer defiantly qualifies as a "stealership"

I had my sister inlaw who works at a dealer here in Montreal check the prices for a '10 C63 P31 which is also what I own...

All prices are Canadian

Retail:
Front disc $1308.00
Front pads $417.60
Rear disc $213.20
Rear pads $229.10
Total $3689.1 + tax

Her/my price:
Front disc $851
Front pads $271.5
Rear disc $138.6
Rear pads $148.95
Total $2399.65 + tax

Now to check state side which I'm sure will be cheaper but you'll have to pay shipping, duty & taxes as well so...

I guess it pays to have a relative work at an MB dealer

Tack on MB "premium CIROC... only an AMG technician can work on your car" labor and you're not that far off the original quote

I think I'm going to make a video for the boards anyway. Just instructional of course. My brakes are fine on my car, but I think a video of step by step instructions would show everyone how easy it really is. More money for mods

Ordered from the USA. Rotors, pads and sensors. 2500 delivered. I still need to pick them up. There is a duty charge. Should be able to get everything done under $3000!

I just called Evosport and that's not true. Maybe try $2400 w/o pads for the C63

He quoted me $2800 for my CL (rotor + pads) with 'free' shipping..
