Opinions on RS5?

I have been offered a very good deal on an Audi RS5 and wanted opinions on what you guys think of them. Anyone owned or driven one? Not sure there even available in the US yet. I haven't even driven it yet but they do look nice especially when lowered.
I know they are not as powerful as C63 and there is not a lot of HP gains to be had from a tune, around 15-20 HP I believe.
Will I regret changing from a C63 to a RS5?

Haven't driven one, but they look fantastic. That being said, AWD won't be as fun and you're down at least 50 hp. Depends on what you might be buying it for. They're not coming to the US until 2013, I think.

I believe Canada gets them in September... looking forward to booking a test drive with my brother since he is strongly considering this car. The thing is its an Audi and everyone I know with an Audi sees major maintenence issues!

I would take AWD over RWD just so I can actually put the power down to the ground instead of making smoke screens.

Deliveries of the 2013 RS5 have already started. They landed at the dealerships this week.

In terms of driving experience I would take the C63 over the RS5.

Has anyone done a comparison between them? I saw a Chris Harris comparision of the RS4 wagon and C63 Wagon where the C63 wagon was perfered even without performance pack. I think I remember seen a video of the RS5 coupe against a P31 C63 coupe in the rain but I cant seem to find it... has anyone else seen this? (The Audi was blue and the C63 Red -I think..) The Audi was faster in the rain but I still beileve they went with the C63 coupe and said that in the dry it wouldnt even be close with the Merc!

wheres the fun in that? sure AWD can make you go fast but I value the driving experience more than pure speed. My buddy has a AMS 10 GTR and its ridiculously fast...but i still think the GTR is still one of the most souless sports car lol

if i didnt live in an area with snow I would never get an AWD car (unless it only came in AWD, but then I'd look into alternatives)...thinking about it...i actually live in an area with snow and I have my c63 LOL. (although I am considering getting a WRX next year)

I suggest you wait till you go for a test drive first. The RS5 look stunning but you might just prefer the raw power of the C63.

Yep, the problem with the RS4 is torque. RS cars have more horsepower than the S variants, but Audi needs to work on adding torque to the RS models. The RS5 has 317 ft/lb, and the S5 actually has more torque at 325 ft/lb (but obviously less hp). You're definitely going to miss the torque from your c63! That's what I love more than anything about AMG/MB. They generally have more torque than their German competitors.

the RS5 has a phenomenal appearance. however, audi has been consistently underpowering their vehicles for some time now, imo

The problem with the GTR is all the elctro nannies along with the AWD. Pure, simple AWD like my previous Evo was a lot of fun. A bit of an alien feeling on a road course on corner exit, but 4 wheel drifts are entertaining too.

4.2 liter vs 6.2 liter. Big difference. RS5 sure looks nice though.

RS6, S3
Almost went for an RS5 and had one for over 24 hours. Once I drove the C63 coupe it was a no brainer however. More fun and better value even with performance pack. No regrets so far.

ive owned the RS5, great car, and the facelift has a boost of HP to 450, the way it revs is astonishing, looks and feels better than sitting in the C63 coupe in my opinion. Unlike the C63, the RS5 was never meant to be a 4 door at one point in its lifetime.
you need to test drive it to see what you like, plus the new audi navi system and pandora is sickening, but to me, there is a rawness with AMG's which makes them notorious , thats the difference that is keeping me happy with my current car.

+1 to what folks have said about torque and rawness.

You will miss that.

(Probably... Best way to be sure is to test drive.)

Fantastic look under the hood IMO, both stylish and technical.

I don't even give a **** about the lower horse power, I would rather have the RS5 as a 2 door coupe over the c63 coupe any ANY day...

Nope... They are built by machines that get it exactly correct each time and don't fu&k sh&t up every now and again Something to be said for robots.

I find it funny that many are putting down the RS5 and have never driven one. That shouts bias IMO. I happen to agree with the comments so I must be biased too
