Dads Performance offers the new Ram Air Hood!!
Dads Performance will be offering the new Functional Ram Air Hood!! 
(patent pending) from Suncoast Creations.
This particular hood will fit the pre-2012 years(2008-2011). If there is an interest we will make a 2012 and up model.
Here are some shots of the new design. It is completely functional and does improve performance. It allows for larger filters which are included and a new and improved air box design. It will be a complete plug and play design. This particular hood is the first out of the mold and still needs a little tweaking/trimming but you get the idea.
These are my home made boxes. The new ones will be similiar but better.
Basically you will loosen the hose clamp at the neck of the "Y" and remove the complete stock air boxes. Remove the stock MAF's with a hex key, and then insert them into the new box. The new air boxes will clip right to the top of the intake manifold and slide right back into the "Y". Tighten the hose clamp, install the hood, paint, and drive off.
This set up will be a MUST for those with the Weistec supercharger.
It is weather proof so you can install it and leave it on year round.

On the dyno we picked up a few horses but the hood was open and the larger filters obviously helped. When we tracked the car we picked up over a tenth consistently in the 1/4 mile with a better 60' time as well.
I forgot to mention its also lighter.
When I get the final hood I'll weigh it and advise.

On the dyno we picked up a few horses but the hood was open and the larger filters obviously helped. When we tracked the car we picked up over a tenth consistently in the 1/4 mile with a better 60' time as well.

The body shop got the hood today and it fits nicely.
They are doing the usual trimming, blocking, and sanding prepping to paint either tomorrow or Monday. Its like Christmas at the body shop.

I am waiting for the final word from Suncoast Creations on the kit and when it will be ready for release. They are working on the air boxes and he said they will be ready within the next three to four weeks. The hood design is complete and ready for reproduction. They don't do carbon fiber so thats out for now.
We are going to do an opening group buy of 10 for $2495.
That includes the hood, air boxes, and filters. Very easy exchange. This system offers true ram air with filters that are twice the size of the stock filters. This set up has proven performance advantages that no other intake system offers. Dyno results will be negligible but its track proven. Its also weather worthy so it can be installed and left on year round for daily driving. Please let me know if you want to get on the list.

I spoke with Ric last night and he is looking into getting a 2012 hood so he can make the mold for both versions (2008-2011 & 2012 and newer). I will let you know how that progresses.

The down side is that the hood is not rated for pedstrian collision.
With parts of the air intake missing and new parts underneath I think its dynamic is somewhat different.

I think it looks phenomenal and was a nice project for you guys and any girls on your crew. If you end up making this in carbon fiber I may be interested. Great job and my hats off to you guys for being so innovative and pushing it to the next level! Take care

None of the old air intake parts are used so there is no need for the accordian tubes that fed the bottom of the old air boxes. The new air boxes are closed on the bottom and feed directly into the rear intake "Y".
They are just screwed to the old bottom because they offer flexibility and vibration resistance to the engine.
