Extended Warranty Costs for my 2009 C63 AMG
Hi Guys & Gals:-)
My 2009 C63 AMG is about to expire on it's manuf warranty of 4yr/50k miles.
I think 10/28 is my expiration date.
I received the following email from the dealer today and would like to get your opinions on what they are offering.
I've never purchased an extended warranty before but this is my first AMG:-)
Thanks in advance for taking the time to reply.
Do you think this is a good/fair offer?
I should preface by saying that I have 32k miles on the car and have had zero problems.
Here is the actual email message from MERC.
........
You can add 1, 2 or 3 more years of the actual Mercedes Benz New car warranty at this time as you are still under the manufacture warranty and are within 30 days of it’s expiration.
Since your mileage is low, I will give you the pricing on the 75,000 total mileage. If you would like to get the 100K or 125K mileage options please let me know.
One more year up to 75,000 total miles: $2610.00
Two more years up to 75,000 total miles: $3595.00
Three more years up to 75,000 total miles: $4125.00
This would be the same warranty you currently enjoy on your C63.
Please let me know which you would prefer as soon as possible so we can get it enforced prior to the 30 day mark.
Thanks!!!
..........
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Eric

6k for 3 years/100k
Might cancel and get my 6k back and then wait for my notice when my warranty is almost up. They always do that when the original warranty is almost up.
But I was lied to and told this warranty I got was point of sale only and the same bumper to bumper warranty the car has when new.
You guys are being sold a limited Mercedes brand warranty? or even a third party insured through Mercedes?

Got my 100k/4 year warranty for 5300 at 48500 miles . But you should probably get it as a lot of people see problems with the 09 AFTER their warranty is up. 5k>endless maintenance prices mb asks for.

I'm also in the market of buying the MB extended warranty (xtra 3 years), but my salesman said it was not negotiable.. but why are the prices so different from what you all posted?

Wrong forum, but some additional information for you to consider. An MB dealer quoted me $6,100 ($100 deductible) for a 3 year 30,000 mile platinum protection on my 2006 SL600 with 24,000.
The dealer claims it covers everything engine, turbos, transmission, differential, ABC, computer, top, etc. etc. except wear and tear items. Windshield wiper blades, brake pads, fluid changes, normal maintenance type of items.
There is definitely wiggle room with the price, you may want to get other quotes from other companies like Protective Assets. The caution is to check carefully what is covered. I am not recommending Protective Assets, just throwing out a name as there are a lot of these available on the market.

Eric…these prices are for a C class with Mercedes…not an AMG. Yours IS a C63 correct?
Not sure who gave them to you, however, I am looking at the pricing now and those prices are for the first level vehicles, i.e. C, CLK, GLK and SLK. The AMG’s are 3rd level.
The pricing I gave you is Mercedes Benz pricing for their own New car warranty.
It does include a 15% surcharge they charge that I would be willing to pay for you plus an additional $100.00 off for the internet special we are running…
So, the 3/75,000 miles through MERCEDES BENZ would be $3499.00 opposed to the original quote of $4125.00
I hope this helps.
Thanks for at least giving me the opportunity to help.
Have a great day!
-------------------------------------
Please, help me decide y'all:-)

I'm pretty certain but I have to ask you. Was your quote for an AMG or an entry level C?

There are extended warranty "farms" out there that will be much lower in cost than most dealers.
I saved almost 2 grand over my local quotes by going through a MB dealer in Chino, CA.
Not sure if the same person is still there (her name was Lisa) but if you search there's a lot of information.
Good luck.

I live in New Orleans, Louisiana. The dealership is Mercedes Benz of New Orleans. I specifically ask for a quote for my car and my wife's e63 and that is what dealership quoted me.
