Trade '11 e92 M3 for '13 C63 Coupe?
Hi everyone, I currently own a 2011 e92 M3 which I purchased almost two years ago. The car is pretty much a stripper with no real options. While I absolutely love the car, I've found myself missing some of the options that I had forgone when I purchased the car.
That kind of leads me here - Im contemplating either a) Picking up a new e92 with the options I'm missing or b) going with a new C63 coupe. I've already consulted with few MB dealers and I'd be able to pickup a nicely optioned C63 (with LSD, sans P31) for about what I'm paying a month on my M3, that is with my trade included.
I'm interested in getting some of your thoughts on this to see if it would be worth the swap / get input from those who have made a similar move.
Thanks!

Kind of a tough spot as you are basically buying at the end of both cars life cycles... I would wait it out for the next M3 or C63 if you can... The big minus of the C63 is the transmission, its not on par with BMW's DCT, I have thought about trading in for an M3 but the low end torque keeps me in the benz.

2012 C63 PP, 2012 X3
Just drive and decide. Don't worry about lifecycle, etc. I would never buy a new car in the first year of its production year at the very least. The C63's transmission is its biggest downfall. Otherwise, I would not get a E92 M3 over it. Note that I got out of a E92 M3 for the C63 and mine is a 2012, so it will be current for a few more years than the outgoing E92.

I would get the C63 if you want more of a "monster". The sound of our cars and the fun factor of driving around and scaring small children with your exhaust is second to none.

I saw a stripped m3 online. Manual, cloth seats, no nav., beautiful! He put his money in tasteful aftermarket mods and it was gorgeous. Our cars are drivers cars. All those options are just secondary. But I myself like playing with gadgets so I need them.
Here's the link. Maybe it will inspire you and save some cash in the long run. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=747315

Listen, this dead horse has been beaten, brought back to life, then clubbed back to death. I was you. I had a 2011 M3. I switched over to a 2012 C63 Coupe. There is literally NO LOOKING BACK! I've owned six M cars. Nothing gives you the rush and adrenaline like the torque of my C63. It is violent. It is unforgiving. It is awesome. Take a chance. Take the plunge. PM me if you need even more convincing. Best of luck with your decision. (btw I was just kidding about the dead horse).

Don't worry about the "end of the life cycle" of the car. This might be the last chance to experience the magnificent M156 and all it's 6.2L V8 fury!
If you're buying the car for its looks and gadgetry, then you missed the entire point of the car.

I love the M3 but think the M6 is fugly.
Having said that, looks aside, I'm not a big and bloated car fan. I prefer the smaller size and footprint of the M3/C63 over larger cars like the M5/M6
@OP... As was mentioned above, if you aren't tracking the car, C63. If you are tracking, M3... hands down. Not because of pure track performance (they are similar) but because you won't be in limp mode after 4 laps

MBWorld Fanatic!
I came from BMW to the C63
BMW Pros:
- way more modding options
- far better wheel selection
- far easier to attain second hand mods (if your cheap like me and don't mind used parts)
- much bigger forum / local community
- a lot less stuffy community
- superior in the looks department both stock and modded (if done properly)
BMW Cons:
- way less *****
My choice...
C63 all day!
Having said that, give me an E90 M3 with the power of a C63 and I would be titling a new car!
Happy Modding!
