guys , what is the minimum diameter rim i can use on my c63 for drag events and what weight to expect ?guys are using 16 inch rims , do you have to do mods to get it to fit or not?
Also , Can i use spare rim as skinnies for drag tyres if i put on another set of tyre on those rims since the max speed you can do with the spare tyre is 60km/hr.
these may be dumb questions m but i am new to the drag scene so i am learning all the time .
thanks

my goal is to get better times on the drags . I see the guys using skinnies upfront and some going down to 16 inch rims with drag radials at the rear . i believe they give you better times due to reduced weights. Does it really cut time off your Ets .

17 inch in the rear.
Not sure about the fronts.
No one uses 16s except DADs and he has different rear brakes to do so.

Does skinnies upfront help on the et times due its lighter weight or smaller ground footprint .

16's fit in the rear with stock calipers

Will you do a caliper swap? What your ultimate goal to have fun or chase 10s NA spray sc you can do allot of different setups but i could only advise if you say your mods and future mods and goalsOriginally Posted by c63amgpower

ExploreThanks , i do not want to change calipers etc . Currents mods are exhaust and tune , will do the pulleys and heat space . dont intend too much else thus trying to maximise setup for drag strip with these mods by weigh reduction and traction . What would be the best set up on rims and tyres for the rear and front for drag setup to achieve some competitive times without modifying much .
thanks again
thanks again

The smallest skinnies you can get on the front is 17". There are a couple of options out there for that. It all depends on how serious you are and what kind of $$$ you want to spend. Dodger63 may have a set of 15" rear wheels and tires that will fit with the C300 rear brake swap(takes an hour) and trimming the sharp edge off the lower control arm. They are a great weight savings and better traction. If he doesn't want to sell his or already has I can help you out. If 16" will fit with the stock calipers/rotors then we can get those also. There are MANY 17" options out there that work very well with Hoosier drag radials. Good luck!!Originally Posted by c63amgpower

You cannot use the spare wheel as skinnies even with different tires. They are not designed for the stress of racing much less driving. Put an LSD in it if you want to get all the power to the track.
