Wife is not very happy
Took my '12 GLK350 to the dealer for a state inspection yesterday. While it was in the shop I casually looked at their selection. Came across a '12 C63 AMG with 6,000 miles on it. Took it for a spin and an hour later drove it home.
WOW! is the only descriptive term I can come up with.
Looking forward to many fun miles in this car.
If you can keep your foot out of it, the gas mileage is not much worse than the GLK. Good luck with that.
Now to make my wife happy. Not sure how much that will cost.
When I was shopping around for a car, I spent all of 1 minute debating to get a c350. Then I realized, either go big or go home. Nothing and I mean nothing can one do to a normal w204 to make it like a c63. That cold start in the morning will always put you in a great mood
Secondly as regards the MPG, I beg to differ.
If you can keep your foot off the gas in the C63 - you can definitely do the same in the GLK, albeit much easily.
On a recent service trip I took the C63 to the dealer and came back home with a 2012/2013 GLK.
Same weather - almost same distance - same traffic
I tried my best with the C63 and the GLK was casually driven with a couple stops for coffee and small grocery.
C63 - 18.8 mpg @ 58mph

GLK - 31.4 mpg @ 64 mph and 2 stops (Extra city driving)

That's a difference of 13 mpg right there.

The best I ever got in the GLK was 22.3 and that was highway driving. You are doing well with yours. C63 got 19.6 on the way into work this am.
"how is that AMG treating you?"
I would recommend optioning the GLK with the lighting package, HK stereo and the Command set up. Also, the AMG appearance package on the GLK really makes it pop.
I think I made the best "mistake" of my life buying this car. Didn't even test drive, never had even been in a C63 before, made some phone calls and the first time I drove one was after I signed on the dotted line.
I don't think I will ever do what I did again in my life, but so far I have zero regrets.
Treat her the way you want to be treated. For most cases, that means keeping her in the loop before large purchases like this. And I'm sure you would like her to do the same for you as well. It should be the same regardless of the household being one or two breadwinners. It's all about respect for each other.

Just get some Goyard luggage. Done.

I'm sure lots of women sure would love for you to be their husbands when they swipe their black cards for that USD$150K Birkin bag once every few months.
