according to my SA, basically oil/filter change, air filter change, cabin filter change, brake fluid change, tranny fluid change. plus the usual puffery of various inspections of the brakes, tire pressures, et cetera. oh, and of course the complimentary car wash.
that's nuts. my indie mechanic quoted me $175 for the oil/filter, $85 for brake fluid (if needed after he checks it). he also said no need for the trans or lsd to be flushed and refilled at this point in time mileage-wise. btw, my indie shop is a family business that's be around for decades, and they are MB certified.

yeah, i normally take all our cars to the indie shop, but a co-worker told me what he pays for A/B service at the dealership and it seemed comparable (although not an AMG), so i thought i'd ask, esp since they would give me a loaner. i was, of course, blown out of the water when they told me the price.

Well you are paying them $140/hr to measure you rotors and tires, look over the car, etc.
A benz dealer service is for people with too much money and not a single clue about a car.

I do all my own maintenance.. (brake pads, brake fluid change, oil changes, a few minor repairs that would have been under warranty but cost me less then $50 but I did not have to leave my car with them for a week.. a hose or 2 had split at some point). It is easy to provide proof when you use an indie mechanic, not so much when you do it yourself (who;s to say I do not create fake work orders that look legit).
It does help that I buy all the materials and parts from my dealer, and I have a good relationship with the parts department
So far, I have not had to provide any proof yet, and I did enf up having the intake gasket replaced, and both fuel pumps, fuel rail and a few other items when the pumps went bad..

I take my oil and and filter to a jiffy lube down the street. The guys there are great. They remove the plastic covers, drain the crank case and oil cooler, change filter and fill it up with my own oil for $30 lol, doesn't get any better than that. I even stand outside to supervise.

$1800 is not even in reality. I would ask them to break that down from an hourly perspective, just so you "understand it better before buying" then send that to MB corporate and report them. If they are doing that to you they are robbing people who are far more helpless...someone's grandparents for example. Put a stop to this, that's seriously criminal.
Service B at worst is like 700...550 is prob avg and 350 would be on the very low side. Never heard of anything near 1800....you need to report them.

this is a whole new level of stealership. the undisclosed pricing for cars beyond a normal AMG lol... 1800... If I was the SA who gave you the quote, I would be slightly embarrassed.

I can also tell you, for a FACT, MB Corporate wants to know about this kind of stuff. They have a major focus on dealership practices/consistency/etc. You've got to step up and give them visibility to this.

here's a follow up from my SA:
$535 for the minimum flex B
additional services needed according to "the factory":
$200 brake fluid change
$195 replace engine air filter (!!)
$650 tranny fluid and filter change
this total is slightly less now due to a "discount".
i'll have to check my manual later, but according to my indie tech, tranny service isn't factory-mandated until 65,000 miles (i have 38,000 miles), and the brake fluid wouldn't be changed unless it was necessary via brake fluid test...

Guys, what's an 'Indie' shop?
I don't know over there but here from the dealer I was quoted $970 for just the grille. I wasn't entertaining them but wanted to find them.
I went to do a service just after I got my car - the 50k service - and I was told:
$3500 from the dealership here (only one authorised dealer in Dubai) for the following:
Standard 50,000km major service (change all filters - oil, air, cabin), all fluids, replace all 4 pads and replace two rear tires.
I got all of the above done (OEM parts) for $1300.

I know these sorts of threads may seem redundant, but I'm glad OP shared the break down so we can see what's current in terms of service pricing. That way we can all compare in our own regions as well as across indy shops.
