ECU tuning question from new owner

I just got a 2012 C63 coupe and have question.
If you flash the ecu then return to stock can the dealer detect this if you have a problem?
I saw one tuner stating that their tune can be returned to stock without detection.
Something about it doesn't complete a write process.
Any ideas here?

Since you have a 2012, they have a way to change the tune through the OBD-II port which means no more sending your ECU out or removing it for the tuner. I have seen several companies do it (Eurocharged and OETuning). They sell you the flashing tool that keeps your stock tune and your modified tune, that way if you have to take it in for service, just replace the stock tune in 30seconds. Do your homework on the tuners and choose the one that fits you best.

Good luck.

If something catastrophic goes wrong with your engine, even if you flash back to stock, your dealer won't know but MB will be able to detect it.

flash tuning can work with all c63s.. not just the facelifted ones

Some 08's and early 09's I thought were having a bit of trouble with the dimsport module. Maybe not, just thought I remember some people having an issue.

and even if they cant tell the car has been reflashed, I remember reading it logs certain perameters such as top speed and max rpm. one member denied having a tune, but the dealer said "your top speed is logged as over 190 mph..."

Eurocharged Performance ML63 and TT lambo
I can only talk to our tuning, but with our handheld and tune we don't trigger a full write. So the counters won't move and the dealer won't be able to tell it was tuned

except if you go over the standard limited speed or exceed the stock tunes settings (throttle, etc).....

i dont know if the current EC tune changes the max rpms, but that is another obvious one
