Transmission service = less aggressive shifting?
Got my trans serviced on my 09 C63 Sedan at my friends garage. They ordered everything directly from MB. They used the Alldata procedures and did a TCU reset. Now while the shifting is way smoother it lost the crispness in the shifts I have grown to love. Will just driving it aggressively help the TCU relearn my driving style or is it supposed to be that smooth and I just didnt realize the fluid was shot.

Yes. The tune is in the ECU. You can reset the TCU by following the instructions here, #10:

Yah man...that's the idea...
The tranny is adaptive, so if it was driven conservatively in its early miles, the tranny adapted to that conservative style. If you reset it, it will re-learn based on how aggresively you drive it after the reset.

I suspect that just as it will adapt to a more aggressive driving style, it will adapt to a more easy driving style as well. So, you have to drive it consistently the way that you want it to perform.

I think the logic is that your first couple of hard, hammer down, pulls should be as aggressive as possible for the tranny to pick it up....if you let off during maximum pulls, then the tranny will adapt to that and not shift as hard or hold as long....
So re-set, and then find some open stretches and open the gates of hell.

10) Steps to Reset the TCU. Resetting the TCU will reset transmission to factory shift points and the car will 'relearn' your driving style.
(1.) Turn the ignition key to the on (not start) position.
(2.) Press the gas pedal to the floor and hold for five seconds.
(3.) Turn the key to the "off" position (don't remove the key), then release the gas pedal.
(4.) Wait at least two minutes for TCU to reset.

I've noticed that the gear changes adapt every so often, but I don't know what the time period is. I wish I could get a straight answer. If I track the car, I want to know how long it takes to "normalize."
