Head Bolt Affected VIN - 2010 & older, & early 2011s

You don't off the car. It requires a VIN search which I can do for you or you can go to various sites as well. The title of this thread spells it out, except in those cases where you're looking at a 2011.
I'm happy to help if you provide one or more VINs.
Regards,
Joe
Look on the driver's side door jam:
made before 6/2010 - old head bolts
made between 7/2010 and 8/2010 - switchover period, run VIN to confirm engine number
made after 9/2010 - new head bolts
This will save you from having to lookup a ton of VINs if you are looking at a lot of cars.

M156 - V8 GASOLINE ENGINE M156 - AMG
The above decoder site says it has an M156 so it would have previous design head bolts. I didn't even know they made the M156 that far back.

If it's a 2010 it's affected. The title of this very thread has that info
They didn't even put the m156 into any car before 2006. The delivery date of 2010 is in there. The engine number is 156985 60 057057, yes it's affected.
0 pages on the intake manifold, Which cracks on pretty much 80%+ of AMGs from 2008-2011 thats a $7,000+ repair.
Gotta love MBworld for their quality content. Lets see if we can get the fake exhaust tips thread upto 17 pages aswell
