I've contacted my local dealer and they say there is no open campaign. Any thoughts? I work for VW and we'd fix it right away if there was an open campaign.

 

MB is fixing them as the need arises. There has been some cost sharing out of warranty but no guarantee. A few have been repaired at Indy shops on the owner's dime.

 

2010 c63. i had my dealer check my car to see if it was part of the group while it was in for service about 2 years ago... they told me my car does fall under the group but from checking a few things, my car had no symptoms and checks out fine.

i've got over 60K miles and never had a coolant issue... and i'm modded... and dragged race my car at the track...

Only if they diagnose and determine one or more have failed.

Majority (90%) of pre-facelift cars. I wouldn't worry as it is rare.

Hi, yesterday at a non-MB dealer I drove a 4 door 2011 w/28K listing for $42.9K and fell in love with the engine. Think this is going to win over the M3. There is roughly 8 months left on the original MB warranty. Before I buy, during due diligence I read about this issue. Would be very grateful if this VIN could be checked? WDDGF7HB8BF550712


It is encouraging to read you all saying the C63 is quite reliable, and I gather COO will be similar to what I have known with BMW's. Often you can't find out the car's past and have to hope previous owner(s) didn't flog her too badly.

Hi valvestud, I'm in the process of buying a 2010 C63 Sedan, it has 40k km on it and I'm buying from a local BMW dealership that says their inspection found a engine leak and sent it to MB for warranty repair (it has 4 months left on warranty).

What should I look out for or say regarding the head bolt issue? I assume the car is in the affected range because its a 2010.
