I notice you also inquired on a UK site. Were you expecting a differnet answer? Also what is the model year and country location on your car? Date code is not same as US car.
Thanks,
Joe

Yes I did enquire on a UK web site but that was regarding what diff my car had..... Don't think I have asked about the head bolt issue..... If I had maybe I still wasn't sure and wanted further clarification......would that be wrong for me to ask... If it's a problem for me to ask on here then I won't....... Sorry and thanks for providing that information......

[QUOTE=MOSSY-C63;5980427]Yes its a 2010 reg 31/12/2010 and its a uk car....
I did hear some engines were in the 2011 cars thats why I was asking because I wasn't sure if mine would be in the affected batch....[/QUOTE
Very interesting. I was expecting you to indicate it's a 2011. This is the first 2010 I've seend that's outside the affected group. This breaks all the rules we've been going by on the forum. Must be related to the fact it's not a US car.
Thanks.

The UK are using the calendar year to indicate model year while in NA we split the model year with fall deliveries or earlier in some models. In NA that car would be considered a 2011 model.

First post. Great forum, very informative.
I'm about to buy a 2009/2010 C63. I'm looking at 2 cars at the moment and the engine number of the 2009 is definitely within the affected engine range. The 2010 just falls outside.
The 2009 has done about 50,000kms. I've searched but I can't find the answer just yet so I thought I'd ask here.
Is the risk of the head bolt failing on an engine in the affected range diminished as the mileage increases? ie are the chances of failure less likely in an engine that has seen more mileage because if it were to fail it would have done so earlier in it's life? I hear these things are a bit of a lottery. It will affect some and not others despite being in the affected range.
Sorry if this has been answered, I just couldn't find it.
Thanks
