I haven't been around these forums in a while but a few of these posts are written in a way that I'm wondering if in the past while Mercedes has acknowledged this issue finally? Was there a TSB or extended warranty or anything? In the past when I've read about this, going into your local MB to ask about this issue would usually just get you a confuses salesman and in this thread them running your VIN is being discussed.

 

Joe would you kindly run a data sheet for me. It would be greatly appreciated. I guess based on a few of your posts I can assume mine is a head bolt concern VIN.

Yes, there is a TSB. The number below is on Star but the link hasn't worked for quite some time. Early on, I was able to read the bulletin, but MB has since blocked download. You can show this to a dealer and they can look it up.
