First, off the W204 is the car identifier, as in a C63, and the engine is an M156. The car is in the affected group, meaning the bolts at time of build were the old design. All that was required was to look at the title of the thread you posted in to get your answer.

And it's even more confusing since you appear to be in Australia. Outside the US countries usually code the year of the car to the calendar. The US is model year which doesn't necessarily match the year of production. So the car you were looking at here in the US is a 2010, while apparently in Australia, it's being sold as a 2011

Long time lurker, first post here. Looking to learn more about the SL63 AMG head bolt issue reported in this thread. Can someone share how Mercedes tracks this? Is it a TSB (technical service bulletin) or some other report or document where this is tracked ? I called our local dealer and they had no idea what I was talking about?
If anyone can let me know what type of document it is and if there is some sort of document number I can ask them to check it would be greatly appreciated.

I know this is a rather old thread but wanted to check to see if you can let me know about this CL63 Engine: 156984 60 029377 since this falls after the sequence number does this mean it would not fall under the problematic engines with headbolt issues?

it’s the last digits that are the sequence. You have a very early engine and is in the affected range.

I am looking to purchase a 2011 C63 in Canada that appears to have a P30/31 pkg. Carbon spoiler, titanium intake, alcantara steering wheel, red calipers, etc. Can anyone confirm if this vehicle is produced with the new head bolts? My understanding is the change was made in production mid 2010? As well, what package this vehicle has (most importantly option 471 - LSD) as I am unsure how to identify P30/31 or the Canadian equivalent.
