Prefacelift Single Fin Grill from 55Tech
I received the grill today from 55 Tech and to be honest if it wasn't for the snow storm it would have been here in about 4 days, Taiwan to Virginia in 4 days = not to bad at all.
Overall the grill is of good quality, the margins on the sides, top and bottom are on point with that of the stock grill. Install took a time consuming 5 minutes from opening the box to getting it on. The only things that I noted are that the web part of the 55 Tech grill is a gloss finish while the stock grill is a matte, and that the this has a slightly more plastic feel that is not quite as pliable as the stock grill. However, with everything on the table, for $229 shipped, it is the answer to alot of prayers for a single fin grill that is affordable and no modification required. Would not hesitate to buy it again. Enjoy the crappy cell pics
As a note to those who have not removed their grill before: the two pins that hold the top portion of the grill on, use a pair of plyers and just grab the top of them and pull straight up. They are a two part pin, this removes the inner part so you can remove the threaded part. After this, press in from the bottom until the taps pop loose and then lift up.

The fitment looks good, but hard to tell with the pics.
And the star emblems looks huge.. Is it the same size as oem? Thx for taking the time to share & update.

Honestly, I know the pictures suck but the fitment is good. It locks into place very well and there is no play once in place. The star is the same size as stock, or at least visually it is when I held the two grills up briefly to compare them.

Sweet, it's nice to hear the grill has no gaps. I should have CF that grill instead of the OEM.

Wasn't shipping from Australia like $128 or something? Or was I thinking of another vendor from that other thread?
Is there one in matte black? Any link from where you purchased it?
Thanks for the info!

I want to fit this, and then get a Distronic Star (about $200) and fit that also. Love the flat star. Much the same as a FL C class with Distronic option.

I believe the ebay guy is 55tech as well but sells it there for cheaper than his website. I am most likely going to order from ebay. I had a grille ordered for my C350 from 55tech's ebay site and it was more $ on their actual site.
To the OP; are you able to post point by point installation instructions please? It would be much appreciated. Also, better pictures when you get a chance. Thank!

The OEM facelift star is bigger than the pre-facelift star.
The 55tech single fin grill star's proportions appear to be the same as the OEM facelift star.
