What the heck did I do wrong...

New rubber for this year and I don't want to mess up this years rears like I did last years. 275/30/19 and here is what they looked like:
As you can see the middle and inside wore similar but outside looks like it never touched the ground...I had an alignment check done before these were put on and everything was withing spec. The car was even towed out a bit to increase the tire life. So what's wrong? Lots of guys say run 42 in the rear and that's what I did. To me this look like too much tire pressure. What do you guys think?

What pressure are you inflating your tires to?

Fist off, it looks like you put about 5,000 miles too many on them lol. Sheesh I hope you never got caught in the rain or snow with this set.

Hard to say went wrong really. Tire pressure could have been the culprit, but the outer edge doesn't look "untouched" per say, it def had a little less contact over there though.

Looks like slight over inflation with normal negative camber wear (inner side wears more then outer)

What were your pressures at?

lol ya I know...but since winter was coming I said screw it. No rain or snow...it hardly rains here when summer is on full blast. Winter hit and I was already driving my subaru.

I don't think 42 should have created this. Although I really don't think they're all THAT far off if your running any bit of neg camber at all.

Don't remember the exact #'s the alignment shop said since it was a year ago but he said everything, tow, camber and caster was all in spec.

It looks like you're carrying a heavy load in your car....are you carrying anything extra in your trunk? Or consistently driving with people in the backseat?

No hardly ever. I hate people in my car. The only thing I would carry was my hockey goalie gear but that stuff only weighs like 50lbs.

The 2 roads going to work are highway and pretty much anywhere else because of where I live and that Calgary is all pretty much highway speeds. Did a trip to Vancouver from Calgary in the summer.

Maybe I should run 40 for this year so that at least the other side touches lol.

They actually don't look too bad, quite even use except on the outside, which is normal if you don't corner like crazy. New cars always have this setup so you get more grip in the corners.

Check this video to see how F1s are set up and how even it gets during cornering:

Don't let your tires get that bold though... It can be dangerous!

Then the inside edge would wear out quite a bit faster.

Over inflation and tire on a rim that is not wide enough or too large of a tire on stock rim.
42 PSI is for a fully loaded car driven at highway speed. Also when rapid acceleration is used, everytime this is done the car squats down the camber on the wheels change, similar to the guys running lowered suspension without adjusters.

I do hard accelerate quite a bit...so maybe I need to take off the lead foot My 19" rims are sized correctly for 275. They are 10". I think they say for 275 you should run a rim thats between 9-10.5". I told my guy the size of tire I was putting on and thats the size he recommended. I wouldn't doubt his judgement either. He's the distributor for western Canada for most aftermarket rims.

lol I actually had those on too before with no problems. But were on my stock rim and 255..Good to know. Thanks for the input

Ask the distributer if running a wider rim will reduce this inner wear, to me the wear looks like it is concentrated from the outer 2nd band to the inner outside band, in the second picture you can see a dip in the center of the tire where the increased pressure has in effect ballooned out the tire on its circumference and has caused more wear. I still say rim width/size should be increased or tread width reduced. PSS have a wide print so possibly other tires would not give the same wear pattern on your rims.

Exhaust

You're exhaust is touching the rear diffuser. You might want to fix it before it melts.
