I need help with my tires on my 2009 C63 with brabus wheels (PIC)
Hi guys, I recently changed my tires and it keeps scraping on stock suspension.
My previous rear tires were michelin pilot super sports.
Now my current rear tires are michelin pilot AS3.
Both 275/30/19
But now, my rear tires keep scraping on the quarter panel like the picture... I took it to the dealership and they said my suspension is perfectly fine.
here is a picture to show you
Any ideas on how to fix this rubbing issue? brabus wheels are 9.5 rear, 45 offset all around.
Thanks so much

You on springs or coilovers?

That looks pretty low to be a complete OEM setup.
The only noise you hear is rubbing right? No clunking or anything crazy?

Yeah no clunking or anything, only tire rubbing when i go over bumps kinda fast like 10-15mph but before i used to be able to go over bumps at like 20-25 mph without any problems. tire is 275/30/19 and my wheels are 9.5 rear, 45 offset all around.

that height is nuts; i find it hard to believe that this stock set up is problem-free. but if it is, i would think you would need to lathe off some of the mating surface of your wheel to reduce the offset.

Factory offset for 18" and 19" wheels is 45 front but 54 rear. That spec would move your tire in by about 1/3". If you have room on the inside, that's the most likely explanation. I know that's not a real helpful fact now that you have your wheels. (Factory 19's are 9", wearing 255/30-19, so it's not absolutely certain that even 9.5 with 54 would solve the problem, but it's a fact that all rear C63 factory wheels are 54mm offset rear.)
By the way, it's very common to find one brand of tire a little wider than another.

The height is hard to gauge because of the angle the picture is taken at. If the camera were held lower and back a bit, it would probably look more normal.

As for the gap, before jumping the gun saying something is wrong, do you have any additional weight in the car/trunk on a particular side of the car and did you take the pictures on level ground?
Still scratching my head as to how you are rubbing with that much room. For reference, here were my rears when I had them and rubbed once on sloped shoulder...

the finger gauge method isnt always accurate. besides, the ground isnt always perfectly flat, and also none of these cars are perfectly even side to side. at least that's what ive seen.

With the updated pictures I am surprised you have rubbing issues.

With your new pictures the height looks fine. Also, the Brabus wheel only comes out an additional 15mm from OEM spec.
Honestly, I have no idea why you're rubbing. Maybe because you're going over bumps at 15mph. When you're driving down the highway and street (no bumps) you aren't rubbing correct?
Also, over those bumps, any passengers in the car?
Edit - yup, thats the pic I wanted. Still looks like there is plenty of room to me

When I drive off the freeway ramp that's in a sharp corner/circle and on a decline, my tires rub. this is my DD so I want to be able to drive it comfortably without any rubbing issues idk what's going wrong! The tires I've had before were michelin pilot super sports but on tirerack they were out of stock until 6/1/14 and my tires were bald so I just got the AS3.
