Mirrors: Pre-Facelift to Facelift - Where T Buy?

Who sells this modification in carbon fiber?

This can't do it right?

Do you want just pre-FL CF cover with the FL look (like the ones on ebay) or do you want actual FL mirrors + covers?
Contact Matt (olszowa12) for the FL mirrors.

I don't know what I'm doing with regards to mirrors. Lol
I want facelifted look in cf, that's all I know. Can I do that by just swapping the cases or do I need a new mirror?
Will the ones from cf complete my goal?

Initial poster if u wouldn't mind posting some pics in here I would appreciate it.

Well CF covers for your OEM mirrors will be the more economic solution.
Pre-FL mirrors (bigger) are totally different from FL mirrors. Therefore you cannot swap covers and actual mirrors.
If you want to retrofit the FL mirrors you will need new units. IMO an improved look as well as airflow. Pre-FL are known to be nosier at high speed.

Those things on eBay, are those what you're calling covers? Will they fit my current housing?

The ebay mirrors wont work for you.

As mentioned, just send Matt (olszowa12) a PM asking about mirrors. He knows everything and can sell you some I believe. If anything, he can get you the facelift mirrors and then you can just have those wrapped in CF if you want that look.

True CF facelift mirrors are seriously expensive.

That's actually false.

See thread

They look like FL mirrors, and fit on your 08-09 C63. They are a little larger than OEM FL, but look like them.

sidv22: look pretty good! i have a few questions for you:

(1) how long have you had them?
(2) how hard was the install?
(3) how come they are lit up? are they connected to the parking lights?

thanks.

i have had them for a year and half now. they are holding up pretty well so far. the installation is straightforward but the fit is not ideal so it can be bit of a struggle to get them to fit. they are connected to the parking lights thats the reason they are lit up. once you manage to install, then no problem.

I had my mirror covers off today to clean them up and lube the adjustment mechanism
Pretty easy

Remove mirror glass
Point mirror down
Put both hands fingers at the top to pull
Thumbs pushing at bottom
Pop it off, takes some force
Remove wires
Driver side 2 wires and 1 plug
Passenger wires only
Put a bit of wd40 on the connections and use needle nose

Locate 3 small torx
Remove and dont lose
Pop off black trim piece
The painted part can then be removed
Youll see some clips to release
It lifts up
Youll see a slip on electrical connector

You can remove the lense
2 small torx
Release clips and pop out

Install is reverse
Make sure connector is seated
Everything 'clicks' in place
Dont over tighten screws, just seat them & lightly snug

did you have to connect them to the parking lights? just asking bc i'd prefer mine to be like the stock ones, with them lighting up with the turn signal only. and when you say the fit isn't ideal, do they fit properly once you are done struggling to get them to fit, or are there gaps, etc?

its only a cover so you still are going to connect to OEM connectors. its a direct connection, just like stock. once you get it installed, the fitment is almost as good as OEM. no gaps. once done, they def look better than stock. better than the ones on 2008/9.

I see. interesting that they wired it up to light up with the parking lights. afaik, the oem FL don't do that. thanks for sharing the info, I appreciate it!

Iv been looking all over for these...

I dont want to replace the whole wing mirror itself because i do like the size of the pre-FL oem mirrors. If i could get a hold of black or carbon fibre FL-looking covers, then that would be great...

Iv looked all over ebay, alibaba, etc and cant seem to find them. Would someone be able to point me in the right direction? It seems as though this wing mirror cover has the same look as the facelift one, but is designed to be fitted over the old pre-facelift wing mirrors. https://youtu.be/RK_iOZM9wu4
