Cabinet is too quite.

I have stock exhaust and it sounds good on the outside but while driving with windows up is very quite. I found out that if you fold down the rear seats the exhaust will be a bit louder. Now my question is that is there a way to increase the sound in the cabinet?

If that's not possible would a x pipe be a good upgrade for sound?

I have stock exhaust myself, but from reading on this forum I believe an ECU tune, new headers/exhaust, etc., can all help.

I was in the same boat OP, until I put straight pipes on the 2nd cats. Same tone, more volume, perfect with the rear seats folded down.

Let me get this correct, replace 2nd cat with straight pipes?

cabinets should always be quite. if they start rattling too much, ur dishes will fall off the racks. not quiet, but there's always a chance.

on a serious note, i went with mikes straight pipes and could nt be happier for that price.

Don't worry even though you don't ear it your exhaust is still loud from the outside. Now there are a lot of options to get it louder. Mike's pipe is one of them or you can just go with LTH.
But be careful what you do not want is to constantly drone.

If it gets too loud, WD-40 should do the trick.

That's correct. The other way people recommend is to X the 2nd cats and straight the resonator. It would sound smoother but with less rasp and "AMG bark", so it depends on what you like in exhaust notes.

I vote straight the 2nd cats and see how you like it and change it from there.

I think that's what will do, thanks!

When cabinets are squeaky, you use WD40 to stop the rubbing sound by spraying at hinges.
