Mercedes Indy shops in bay area....
Does anyone know of any good Mercedes Indy shops in the bay area that do good work? I'd like to know so that I dont have to go to the dealership in case some maintenance or work needs to be completed...

Actually, you should join the NorCal Exotics group (if you haven't already) on FB and ask there. Lots more bay area people who would probably be able to offer a suggestion. If you PM me your email for fb I can shoot you an invite to the group.

What exactly are you looking for? Cheaper rates? Mod-friendly? Better work?
I personally think the service department at Smythe is very competent, and that being a dealer is a plus when they need information or permission from corporate. But that said, I see a lot of license plate frames from Autobahn Los Gatos on older cars so they must be keeping customers happy.
I also took note of Mercedes Exclusively on Kiely (a couple of blocks from Smythe) because the Yelpers seem to love him.

Anybody have any recommendations on a place on the peninsula in the bay area? I am in San Mateo and I am 15 days from having to do my 4yr/40k B0 service which is Oil, transmission, rear diff, brake fluid, & air filter. I can do the oil and air filters myself if I have to but the trans fluid, brake fluid and diff I don't feel confident enough to do them.

$450 for a tranny service isn't too bad. The fluid alone (it takes a lot of it) is well over $100 if I recall correctly. Dealers work on these cars day in and day out, but they still make stupid mistakes (mine left an oil cap off, which I found the hard way). But if you find a good dealer they are more knowledgeable about certain things.
