Why do some C63AMG owners try messing with a C6 Z06???

then again, over 5 cars (25 years) adding in fuel, tires, insurance, capital cost, depeciation and interest (4%) that is 300k to 400k in the bank

OP, I don't think anybody is arguing that the C63 is faster then the Z06. What I think some people are trying to say is that you're personifying the 3 drivers with personalities while sitting in your car as the third party.
As dumb as street racing is, (I would never do it
), people enjoy seeing how their cars compare to others on the road. Its not always a pissing match/ who has the bigger dick contest. I for one have never driven one and would love to see a Z06 burn rubber.
Also I find your story suspicious as I believe someone just so happened to post a video of a C63, M3 and a Z06 street racing the other day (with the Z06 pulling like a villain). And your story almost seems like you're narrating the video...

Maybe 1/5000 passenger cars are C63
A bit more for M3
Less for the e60 M5 and Z06
Even if in an area where the concentration is high like LA, NYC, Miami, etc
Let's say 1/100 are one of those, more like 1/1000
The odds of all 4 being at the same place randomly, not a pre-arranged race, meet, cars & coffee, etc
1/100 ^ 4 or one in 100 million!
For example 2006-2013 27000 z06
Total passenger cars 100,000,000 (actually >200 mil but we 'll 2 vehicles per household 1 driven any given moment )

IMO it's all on the driver...unless the benz was screaming 5k+ when the race started the driver had no idea what he's doing...Plus street racing is dumb it's fun to do a little rip to legal limits but other then that its kinda stupid

Anyway, if throwing out fancy probability calculations to somehow justify the chances of this brand of cars being on the same hwy at the sametime plus calling me names help you guys support your point(s) to perhaps help you to discredit me then so be it.
I know what I saw in person with my own two eyes and believe me, it happened! Like I said, my flame suit is on. Oh well, moving on.

I think you're over analyzing the whole situation. to think negative is to also be part of the negative situation. For all you know he was just trying to have fun in an environment that you think to your own standard he shouldn't be.
unless you talked to him like his counselor, I wouldn't jump to conclusions about what he was thinking or why he did what he did. The only thing I would agree is you did the right thing in minding your own business by not participating.

I think some of us need to learn our competition muchbetter, and pick the right fight.
Here is what happened tonight: my wife and I were coming home from dinner, I noticed two cars coming at us a high rate of speed. One was a White M3 E92 coupe with loud exhaust and the other was a black C63AMG coupe, also with a loud exhaust. Upahead I noticed a black C6 Z06 who happened to just enter the hwy.
Here is where things got interesting, the Vette was chilling and seem to be minding his business in the far right lane. We were in the middle lane, the bimmer and themerc decided to get in front of us…the AMG in front of me (next to the vette) ,and the bimmer in the far left lane. Inexplicably,the C63 decided that it was time to test his mighty AMG vs. the Vette. I stayed back, my wife looked at me and said –“don’t even think about it” I said, no worries, I’m too full and besides, I had nothing for the vette, possibly the M3 and the C63 – even though they both sounded modded. We were traveling in our E60 M5 tonight which is not stock either, but I know my limits.
The bimmer guy knew and understood he had no competition against the vette, but the Merc insisted on messing with the Z06 – the vetteguy kept ignoring his invites, he even rolled down his window waving at the guyas to say to just chill and move on. Needless to say, traffic finally opened up, the Merc seemed to have floored it and took off. I think that shenanigan pissed off the vette guy because he went after him, and from I can tell the vette got on that AMG azz faster that I could say Ay caramba four times.
Traffic thickened up a little, but enough to pack themtogether (us included). The far right lane opened up, the vette went over and waited for the C63 to follow, and then I heard him go wide open throttle, theC63 chased – the next thing I know, that Z06 was darn near a quarter mile ahead of the C63…he literally disappeared. My wife looked at me asked me – “why did thatMercedes even tried messing with that vette?” I replied, because he possibly had his chest full of AMG ego and thought he couldmess with one of the fastest production cars from GM.
What is the lesson here brothers and sisters? Know your competition! A Z06 is in another league. If you are a member of this forum Mr. BlackC63 coupe AMG (post face lift) with red calipers…I hope you learned your lesson. Z06’s are torque monsters, are very powerful and light and are really fast. Just in case you didn’t know Mr., in pure stock form, Z06’s are very capable of running mid 11’s at 125mph or more and will do 195mph plus. And if they choose to make the vette a little angrier; all they need is a CAI kit, headers and tuning.

FYI, I never drank alcohol in my life and never will, I never smoked anything illegal or legal in my life and never will, and I never injected any illegal drugs and never will...what I saw in person yeterday evening was REAL and its the TRUTH
Oh yes, when I was young and stupid I used to race well into the tripple digits speeds on the hwy with my previous cars and motorcycles. Now that I am older, I sometime asked myself: how in the world I didn't end up in jail or worse, dead or even worse than that...injuring or killing another innocent driver.
I often see some of these guys weave in and out traffic or zooming past me doing well over 100mph and it makes me shake my head. As I stated over and over, I do not support street racing and I know what I saw...period!
Bro or Sista, if by me sharing what I saw stroke a sour bone in your body then so be it. Can we please move on...cool?

Many of my buddies say the same thing. Nah man, I'm not touching it. I witnessed what alcohol and/or drug abuse can do to people. I know it's all depends in the individual and all, but no thanks!

This may have you spinning, believe it or not, as we drove to the restaurant, we saw a white super clean CLS63 with slamming black wheels, then shortly after an ALL blacked out X5M (I don't see them that often) then a silver 997 TT P-car as we entered the parking lot - we ate at Sambucca.
Last night was crazy - it was like a freaking autoshow in motion.
Injecting drugs such as heroin...yikes

No, man. Besides, from I can tell, it makes you burb; sometimes loud enough to scare away the fish.
Trust me, my buddies drink enough for all of us. And as you can imagine, I am always the designated driver.
I made some decent cash while in college by charging friends and roommates designated driver fees. Yep, if they wanted me to sit there and watch them get stupid drunk and drive home, then they had to pay me. It wasn't too bad though, I got to meet some nice girls along the way and no one ever got any DUI's or public intoxication charges.

The C63 does ride rough though; I have a pre FL however. I hear the post FL are much better.
I did owned a 2008 E63 which rode really nice, but it was too soft-loose; handling was kind of whack for a car with the much power. I truly think our current C63 handles better vs. that E63.

I recently sold my Z06 for my C63. While the Z06 is an entirely different type of car (3000 pounds, so much power and so little weight that I couldn't keep it straight) it's not so far out of the C63 category that you should be embarrassed to race one.
There are C63's with nothing but headers and tune running high 10's. While the stock Z06 record is, I believe, 10.73, that's not the case for 95% of them. They are very difficult to drive to perfection and I'd guess the majority of stock Z06's are running in the 11.5 range. Why shouldn't an 11 second C63 race an 11 second Z06?

Now with the C63 with just a tune I ran a 12.6 on a 95 degree night. It will run a low 12 once it cools off making it pretty close to my old Vette. If I get long tubes then I expect it to be as quick or a little quicker than my old Vette.
The point is, the C63 is no slouch that will get beat by a Z06 from a roll, but may beat the Z06 from a standstill if the Vette guy can't launch.
