Why do some C63AMG owners try messing with a C6 Z06???
451 hp c63
0-150 22.8 sec
12.3/116
2 recent M4 car & driver and road & track
Both got 23.3
12.4/114.9
12,3/117
There is no way a car with 480/485 or 500/500 as claimed by 2 recent dyno tests that weighs >400 lbs less, with dct, launch control, smart LSD, 275 vs 255 be the same speed as a car 7 years old with less power

For the most part, both vehicles do what they were designed to do, and do so really well. Personally, I like both vehicles, both are insane piece of machines, and both are in the top tier inside their perspective niche.

Sure, sometimes things can get a little muddy and downright personal with some folks when comparisons are made. It often gets nasty when comparing two totally different animals; in this case the 451hp C63amg and the 505hp C6 Z06.

Again, I started this thread sharing what I saw the other night between a 63 coupe and a Z06. Please keep in mind, I don't know what mods (if any) any of the two combatants had. AND, I am a fan and respect BOTH cars! Anyhow, this thread turned into a somewhat pissing match and name calling fiasco. Thankfully, much of the ugly mess has not globally shared or accepted; it mainly comes from a couple of members, but oh well, it is what it is...

Moving on, to me, both vehicles can do amazing things in terms of performance, especially with aftermarket modifications. For the sake of "why the hell not" and since this entire thing started as a 63amg vs. Z06 mess - I did a little research for both vehicles: stock form (451 vs. 505) and found the following (see attached)...just sharing that's all:

Omg now that I wasted a part of my day reading the nonsense of a post. This thread is pointless. Its like you're the Z06 fan boy that drives a C63. Yea you said you were just sharing your story etc etc, but you took to a whole different level with the way you went about telling it. I imagine you have driven or owned Z06 to have accurate knowledge to speak on. Nonetheless I respect the Z06 drivers, my dad even owns a C5 Z06. Awesome cars, powerful just a different kind of powerful, but they really aren't far off from the C63 by much.
My guess is you ran a widebody LS2 or LS3 C6, or the Z06 was in the wrong gear all 3 times.
Good kill regardless! The C63 definitely sounds way better than any Vette IMHO, including the Stingray.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Vette drivers are mostly 50+yr old women, thats why most corvettes, like 95% automatic. Even the old midlife crisis owners are usually to scared of them to get on it.
Good point, perhaps initially I came across rather too aggressively towards the 63amg which may have caused a few members to get on attack mode towards me.

Once again, I like ALL cars - I am NOT a brand loyalist.

A vette is faster in any aspect.
When I saw the stingray the first time or any other corvette from up close I just started shaking my head. The quality of the car is just bad. The gaps between the body panels are way to big. It looks like a teenager put those cars together.
The engines are ok but that's it, it's a damn push rod motor with two valves per cylinder. That is technology from the 40's.
I just can't wrap my head around how far behind that car is when comes to engineering. Now they use carbon fiber which other OEM's did 10 years ago. That car shouldn't cost more than 40k new.
The c63 is a better car when it comes to engineering and quality.
Damn it's a merc they are the pioneers when it come to new technologies.
ABS, LED's, brake assist, airbags, diesel technology, off-roading, and so on.
I rather buy a car from a car company which still takes the effort to actually engineer thing. Then buying a car from the car company which reverse engineer their **** and trying to sell it.
And to other posters that think the Vettes are terrible cars, they are great cars, especially for the money. And making a push rodded motor put out the power that they do requires all kinds of advanced engineering. The thing about the Chevy LS engines is that they are very compact and light. And the LS motors also get great gas mileage. I had an 06 Vette and I'd regularly average over 30 mpg on trips.
And I say this without bashing my C63, it's still the best car I've ever owned.
I'm not a serial street racer, but I guarandamntee you if I pull up on something that looks like a good run, whether I win or lose I'm chasing it down! As long as the surroundings aren't "non-conducive" to a safe run that is.
I know some are going to say, "no street racing leads to a safe situation", well your probably right, but every single one of you on this forum has had their cars over 80mph, and got there quick, what's the difference if there is another driver beside you with open lanes ahead?
And if you're going to say "well it's illegal", then I will say, so are my tints, and just going 1mph over the speed limit is illegal also.
Like I said, I'm not an avid street racer, but if the situation is asking me to throw down, you better believe I am game as long as we are alone.

Kidding aside, you're both arguing the same thing: Why?
Therein lies the OPs point. But nobody here knows for sure the reason the C went after him, so arguing that is chasing farts in a windstorm.
However, I can agree that if bored, or knowing the other car had similar output, I'd gun for it. It's one of the fun, extra legal activities adults can enjoy from time to time.
Folks who denounce street racing can't pretend they've never punched through an ending lane, or on ramp, so that argument is null as well.
It only means we were wrong too lol
Believe it or not we can partake in an activity and it can still be wrong
Our participation does not make it right
Adults do not street race, morons do
We all are moronic at times, it's the human condition lol
Who's 'butt hurt'?
What does it mean?
*** raped?
BTW the story was made up
There was a video of said race posted last week on youtube
What's the difference between an AMG and a porcupine?
On a porcupine the *****s are on the outside

For myself, I'm not a fan of anything out of GM.
