It's great that they caught this one now, so they can fix it before the new C63 AMG gets here...

They did the right thing at the right time and I appreciate it as an MB lover.

Really?
One of the reason why I won't plunge on a new AMG c63 until 2016.

They say it doesn't appear to affect US cars
Sounds like a simple mfg assembly problem
Locking a steering coupling
Apparently no accidents or injuries yet
Good it happened in europe rather than the lawsuit crazy US LOL

I'm with abcut973...I purchased the 2014 to avoide these issues.

Really.
You've heard how long it took GM to fess up about an issue they knew about long ago, which caused many untimely deaths from benign accidents. Really inspires confidence in the brand when companies do this to protect forecasted profits?
There's a difference between apprehension in buying the first model year and admitting a mistake in assembly.

Yes, but the w205 is a hot topic here. Eventually once the c63 hits and forum members actually own them then that section will become more active. Originally Posted by austintipton

For now, pretty much anything 204/205 amg comes here.

Exploremost of the benz recall campaigns are silly stuff like software and double checking things, they've seen a few issues with. Be it checking a bolts torque, applying sealer/wax to a spot, checking a parts production date etc... the steering couplers are goofy and i have no idea why they made them have a quick release but appearantly they forgot to show someone at the plant how it works.
