Michelin Pilot Sport AS3...
Anyone here run these tires? They have a healthy treadwear rating and the price is right for 255/35/19 and 275/30/19 on my 507 ($950 installed - cash deal).
I'm also thinking of the Sumitomo HTR Z III's for $750 installed.

I run Conti DWS in the winter oem size
Michelin PSS in the summer 245/265 next set going 235/265
I have run PS AS3 on my RS4
I like the DWS better but really no discernable difference
The DWS seemed quieter and better wearing but only marginally

i have them on my car and driving with them in dallas, tx where our roads aren't too bad (depending on what area you're driving in) for about 3k miles now with no issues. i like the way they grip on the road, even when it's wet outside.

I've been running them for the past 16 months. Still have a decent amount of threadwear left (and I've autocrossed my car and don't mind getting a little sideways almost everyday....)
Grip is good in both the dry and wet, ride comfort is great, treadwear is amazing (so far I've put on about 10,000 miles, think I still have a good 3-5k left) and the price is right.
Can't go wrong. I will be replacing these with the same.

I'm on my 2nd pair of rear Conti DWS 255/35/18 (lasted ~30k miles) and I really like them. They're quiet and have decent grip in dry and wet conditions. I think both the DWS and AS3 are pretty much on par. Michelin has been known for its tire noises and taking time to warm up, but you won't go wrong with either.
Try one, then the other. Our C63's goes through the rears so fast you'll be replacing the tires within a year or so anyways...well, depending how much you drive.

holy jesus, man, no offense but STFF. the prior thread even has the same exact title. and the replies are almost exactly the same, from the same people. the active discussions in this forum are becoming close to useless at this point.

I have had two sets of them and only got like 7k mikes off both sets. They are horrible in cold weather anything below 32 degrees they are like hockey pucks. They only come with 9/32 of tread so are 25% less tread then other manufactures. I put them side by side with the yok. S drives and they are shorter and narrower . I have had the s drives for a month now and love them.

Nope not worth it. I was a manger at discount tire for 8 years and Iam very impressed with the S drives. Something about the michelins with the wet weather lost my confidence with.so you only get 6/32 of tire life the last 3/32 are considered no good. That's a lot of money for only 6/32

I have about 8K on mine and am very satisfied. I did pop one on a bad pothole a couple of weeks ago but NYC is the worst and 245/45/17 is as low as I will go having gone through 3 tires before that were lower profile on a previous MB.

I've tried a lot of different tires and in my opinion these are the best hands down. I have them on my 370z and A5 and finally on the Benz. Just a shade less sticky then a dedicated summer, excellent wear, quiet and they actually look kinda cool and offer a bit of protection against rash. No brainer. Love these tires.
