Gas prices are in serious decline. Commute might not cost as much as you think.

Honestly gas has been great and if it stayed like this I wouldn't mind. But even Mr. President announced not to get comfortable and that some people aren't gonna be happy... I think I'm gonna go with my original idea and pick up a mk2 GTI.

The amount of times gas comes up on this forum makes my head want to explode. You bought a 6.2L naturally aspirated v8, most likely spent $45k+ depending on when you got it, upwards of what, 80 new... Yet, the thing that brings you to your knees is spending $50/week on gas?

Its not only that, but its the fact I'm putting more wear and tear on it and considering its been out of warranty I'm more scared of the damn head bolt arising (since it happens most with higher mileage c63s)

So today driving to work there was a black CLA behind me with the bi-xenon option and boy was it good looking. When i saw that it was a CLA i thought in my head oh man i want one! I then found one near my local dealership with the sport package plus (i guess it's rare) and they had it listed it for $41,999. I talked to a sales man via email and he said the best he can do is $42,830 OTD with tax and license. He said the best they could offer for my car was $30k which i think is BS and i rather sell it privately... All in all what do you guys think?
CLA looks great from the front. The rear? That's another story. Hideous lines.

Don't get rid of a C63 for a CLA250 but a CLA45 now that's something to think about......

W212 e63. 2012 or 2013. I know they aren't new, but still have a great engine and are a hell of a cruiser.

edit: will cost more than 42k though.

Maybe a 2012+ C63? If you love the 6.2 now isn't a bad time to buy a facelift as they are going down in price. Only downside is that whole gas thing which I've already made my comments about.

Hey now, nothing wrong with a bit of a fun sized package, plus the ladies forget all about it once they hear the loud/confusing noise coming from your C63... "Oh...you must have a small *revs engine* wtf was that eargasm just now"

So something interesting just came up.... a 2011 335is with DCT transmission just caught my eye and when inquiring about trading my C63 in they reported that my C63 was in an accident according to Auto Check? However my car shows up as being clean through Car Fax?

I have a friend with a fully optioned CLA 250 that I've driven a few times. Remember the CLA 250 is aimed at people who couldn't previously afford a MB. For those coming from a Honda Accord or Chevy Malibu, the CLA 250 is extravagant. Coming from a C 63 it feels nuetered, numb, and cheap.

If you're looking for something better on gas I'd recommend the new VW GTI. It will at least feel more buttoned down with a sportier feel and still come in cheaper than a CLA.

+1 on the GTI. I have a soft spot in my heart for those cars; had one of the OG versions allllllll the way back in high school and loved it.

Does this mean you have a Vagina because you drive a CBS?

And yes - I know of 2 guys that purchased C63's who complained about the poor gas mileage. Beyond dumb, considering they took multi thousand dollar hits on the trade in to get into a new car early.

Having it show up weird is a sign from the car gods telling you "Don't be a dumbass Jon". I can understand the issue on it using a bit more gas but really, do you just not like driving it daily? Does it not put a smile on your face each time? Do you hate fun? lol

itzjonjon69, please ponder the words of a famous American: "Dost thou lovest life? Then do not squander it by trading in thy C63 AMG for a lesser machine for the C63 is the stuff that life is made of." - Benny F. Ok not exactly his quote but I'm pretty sure this is what he would have said. Just something to ponder.
