I did consider that but it will not work for me because my original steering wheel is too old of design. If I had the steering wheel from the "face lifted W204" then I could swap out the control modules.

If I get the control module from face lifted W204.... there is not guarantee it will work also... I don't want to take that chance. Maybe try the steering wheel column from face lifted W212 first.....

Would the column from the Facelifted W204 2012+ work on the 2010?

Are you referring about installing the W205 steering wheel on a 2010 W204? That's what I was thinking when I was considering purchasing 2008 C63. But since I purchased W212 and my shifter is on a steering column I would need to get a steering column from face lifted 2014 W212.

I've got a 2009 C63, and have replaced the steering column with one from a facelifted 2013. Doing this, the buttons work, the paddles work, however the buttons don't work correctly.

Up/Down are left right, and all of the others perform functions they shouldn't, apart from lingutronic. I've ordered a new set of buttons that were used on the wheel of the 2014 CLS, that replicate the buttons on the older style wheel. They were only $80, but haven't arrived yet. Hopefully this will then give a fully functional wheel.

For a W212 I can sorta see where this makes sense. But for a W204 guys? Really? There is basically zero difference between this steering wheel and the facelift or performance pack flat-bottom one. You guys are talking about swapping out steering columns etc just to get this wheel to fit when there is already a plug-and-play one available that is 99% like this one. Am I missing something here?

Because the face-lift wheel still doesn't light up the buttons without also fitting the new column. It may only be a small detail, but non the less.

Guys
Pardon the ignorant question..but when you say "column"..do you'll mean the whole long column with the motor, joints, etc..or do you mean the clock spring assembly that holds the indicator stalk?

I ask because the 2012 212 has the column mounted shifter, which the 204's don't have...?

Just the assembly that holds the turn stalk. For W204 I think you would need one from 2013-2014 W204 or 2014-2015 W212 coupe.

Aha!
Thanks very much!

Also..did it work? Was the clock spring assembly the only thing required? Buttons?

Are you using a face lift steering wheel? from 2012 and up? or your old pre face steering wheel.

I have the opportunity to purchase the OEM steering wheel and Steering columun from a 2013 C63 with Performance Pack. I would love to have the double flat steering wheel.

Can any of you confirm if this will work in my 2010 Sedan?

Nothing yet. The only thing is that I will try to swap our the contact plate/control module from the old wheel to the new one to see if I can get everything to work. Will start taking the old wheel apart possibly today...

Hi Kobzarhomes..you now have a 212, yes?

Yes I have W212

I have not found anyone that has completed this swap.

I was going to swap the control module but that's not going to work because it's so different. I will try swapping the steering wheel column from the FL W212.

So can we assume this is not currently a possibility?

We can assume that "after" I try the FL steering column and if it does not work. Right not I would not assume that.

That's the other thing..I can't find Part No. A212 900 7702 anywhere..?
Is there any other column that would make either the FL 204 or 205 wheel work?

The part number you are running is probably old. I remember when I search this part number of maybe it was different number, it was replaced with a new part number.

W204 needs a different steering column then W212 since one has shifter on the column and the other does not.

Mine has a shifter on the column so I purchased one from FL W212.

Correct.
The other part number that was shown was A2129003415...also not available..it looks like a W212 column without the shifter..can't seem to find that one either.

Check out this site for original Mercedes parts.
You will come up with allot of different column option and part numbers.

I have a clock spring A212 900 34 15 8N85. I never installed it but it is the same one Abcut973 used on his former PFL C63. The case seems to be a very dark brown and not black.
