I did this now on my GLK from 2009. Added the new FL column and W205 Wheel, No buttons work, Light works though. Actually one of the buttons made the horn sound but thats it. I tried the first FL Wheel and all works on that one. I moved that Wheels module to the W205 Wheel and nothing. Ideas?
Guys, if you are trying to install the w205 New C class steering wheel with older c or e class steering column control module, think it will not work for no one.
This is in general wrong.
"Yes it is." Since There is no difference on the different W205 models Wheels technicly and the inside is replaced anyway.
Please do not mislead people. The steering wheel which is installed in your car is not from C class w205. It's from some other model. The buttons are totally different.

It is from C class W205 but AMG sport package ones. Not C63 AMG W205 or the AMG GT one.
The buttons have to be changed to enable the previous functions to work.
I did this to my W204 facelift with the W205 C63 AMG or the AMG GT steering.

Talk about misslead!!!!! Read my threads.... Not W205.?.Yeah..
It is a W205 Wheel with W218 buttons and circutboard plate so it works with old cars column.
I have all partnumbers needed to make it work in my thread.
There is no difference in circumference.
But the handles are different with different thickness at certain areas.
AMG package steering wheel
AMG / GT steering wheel
I know very well that the look is different. Has NOTHING to do if it "works" in a old car to do though. That is all Electronics. And can be modified so it works. That is al I am saying here since that is what it importent.

Just pointing out that the wheel size is no different but the overall wheel trim and thickness is different, which differentiate it from a AMG package one to the AMG /AMG GT one.
The Steering wheel definitely feels different when u use them and hold them.
Part of the thread title is about W205 AMG steering wheel, part of this is about retrofit..... so was just clarifying.
Kudos to you for making it work on you GLC and for doing all the work yourself.
Whatever mate, i am not going to argue. But if you are saying that you had to replace the buttons of the original W205 steering wheel and you put the W218 buttons, so how can you tell that its a W205 wheel?
Then people will buy the W205 wheel thinking that it will fit, but it would never fit, then people would need to buy the buttons etc.
This is totally misleading.
Just just the W205 or C63 model wheels and you will see that the buttons there are totally different, so all electronics is different, and the W205 wheel will never work, unless you change them, and if you do, then it becomes not W205 wheel but a modified wheel with only external rim from W205 and all electronics from some other model.
But whatever, i am not going to bump my head into the wall
Nerukas: What is your deal? Whats will all the complaining and negativity? This is the best part about this forum is other Mercedes owners trying things, experimenting with retrofitting and fun stuff like Chris does. I installed W205 steering on my W212 car and I love it. Yes you need to replace buttons from 2015 W207 and steering column from 2014+ FL model, but thats the fun part, trying things out and making them work.
With some trial and error, things work... so stop bashing other people hard work and being so negative.
You say you have installed the facelift (W204?) column - but you also write you have the "new style" column (like shown on the picture below your comment).
BUT - isn`t the facelift W204 column still "the old style"?
If you looking for pictures from W204 fl interieur you always see the "old style" column with the limiter at the top.
So do you have still your oem fl w204 old style column or did you change your oem column (to what column?) for making everything work?

Sorry for confusion.
My C63 is the facelift W204 and I HAVE the steering column as the NEW style as seen in pic (except the difference of not having the control of speed of washer jet (in middle) in the upper stalk)
Still the W205 steering was not plug and play and have to be modified which the seller in Germany did perfectly well.
The point I was making was that maybe that is the difference in the upper stalk which makes my facelift NEW column not compatible.

I have a 2012 FL with the old style column with the column adjuster on the bottom, turn signal in the middle and cruise control on top. Maybe the 2013 or 14 got the newer style.
