oh man, ran out of fuel.

i pushed my luck too far today and ran out of fuel. lucky i was in line at the petrol station. i was too far to push it, so had to get a 5l jerry can to get me to the bowser. i managed to put in 66.65l total.
this is the first time its happened. i guess i learned my lesson, fill up at the first sign of the low fuel light from now on.

anyone got any funny stories, im sure there r a few. the people behind me werent impressed

I tend to keep it above a 1/4 tank.

Fuel acts as a cooling agent for the fuel pump...

It always upsets me to see the estimated range display disappear exactly when you need it most (when you have less than 25km left, it turns into a red display). I've pushed my luck many times, I've been lucky so far...

In an AMG, you start looking for a gas station half empty. At a quarter of a tank left, you need a gas station NOW

Same here. I ran it low once and figured I could do without the stress. When it's half tank, I start thinking about filling up. When it's quarter, I definitely fill up.

HAHA! Two weeks ago pushed my luck for the first time. Pushed it down the first hill by myself and would have had the second part if I didn't have to stop for traffic. Agreed on filling up at a quarter now.

Ok. With the plethora of tunes out there. And not getting into a brand war. Which is best and easiest

petrol prices are crazy in Australia so there's always a line up at the budget/discount servos.

having said that, i'm a lot more relaxed once the light comes on in my C63 compared to when the light comes on in my previous E60 M5! that thing drank way more than the AMG!

it was a caltex, needed the vortex 98. it was bad timing, the tanker arrived and had hogged up a few bowsers as it was in the way.

and yes, ive heard the v10 m5 was thirsty, normal driving got back, what, 20l/100km

yup, around 22L/100km!

i've never really given vortex 98 a shot even tho i remember reading some reports that it was the cleanest 98. i've always stuck with BP Ultimate.
