Nice looking wheels!

I'll try the math and let others share their expertise.

The stock 18's are 18x8" +45 offset front and 18x9" +54 offset rear. Tires are are 235/40-18 front and 255/35-18 rear.

With Front 8.5 et 35 235/40 and rear 9.5 et 38 265/35, you are adding 1/2" of wheel width (measured from centerline, lets call that 6mm to the inside and 6mm to the outside) and moving them outboard by 10mm in front and 16mm in the rear. Going from 255 to 265 at the rear adds another 5mm to both inside and outside.

The inside edge of your new front wheel will be 10-6=4mm further out. That's not a problem. The outside edge of your front wheel will be 10+6=16mm further out. Others with more experience should weigh in here, but that looks to me like a close but acceptable fit.

In the back, inside edge of your new wheel will be 16-6=10mm further out, and the inside of your tire will be 5mm further out than stock. That's not a problem. The outside edge of your rear wheel will be 16+6=22mm further out, and your tire will extend another 5mm further. That looks like too much, even with stock ride height and just a 265 tire. What do others think?

ET38 rears will amost certainly rub unless you like the poke-and-stretch look with really skinny tires and mount 235s all around. And, I seriously doubt that 18" aftermerket fronts will clear our brake calipers.

One other thing that most people and online "rim calulator" tools fail to take into account is that in 99% of the cases (i.e. normal applications as opposed to poke-and-steretch) it's not the rim but rather the tire that ends up rubbing, so for any offset the rim width is in reality less important than the tire width. In other words, if for example a 9.5" wide rim with a 275 tire extends past the fender by, say, 3 mm and rubs, reducing the rim width to 9" with the same offset (which would thus bring in the rim by 6 mm) will STILL rub with the same 275 size tire.

Or I sould abandon the idea of 8,5 & 9,5 and return original offsets.
The last attemtp to change the original to something different.

8j et 40 r18
9j et 45 r18

Everybody has different taste in wheels, but yours and mine align. I think . . . that you should let ME buy these! They should fit great.

However, if you are really wanting to go to wider wheels, there's no reason to give up hope. Example - I'm running stock E63 wheels from a W212 that are 9x18 ET37 up front and 9.5x18 ET52 in back - and there are LOTS of aftermarket options that fit. There's a sticky near the top of the topics list on this forum called something like THE OFFICIAL W204 AMG FAQ. Open it up and you'll find a 'Pictures' topic near the top and an 'Aftermarket Wheels Thread' near the bottom that should give you hundreds of great examples.
