2011 C63 AMG Spark Plugs

To all the C63 masters in here, I need your advise as I am new in this.
A local shop just quoted me today $995.00 plus tax to replace my Spark Plugs, Cabin Filter and performe a Brake Flush. In addiction to that, another $132.00 + tax for the Oil and Filter change. All this, as part of a B0 Service, not including the wiper blades come to a total of $1250.00 for the service.
How Hard would it be, if I try to do all this on my own?

Also, if you guys can comment you opinion on the following subject, that will be greatly appreciated.
About a year ago, I owned a 2008 C63 AMG and I noticed when I cranked that engine, it will sound very loud and mean when it was cold and reduce the sound as the RPMs reduced.
This 2011 sound different, its not as loud. The 2011 C63 has a Eurotune ship upgrade from 451HP to 540HP, I am not sure if the Eurotune was adjusted to start the engine at a lower RPM and that's what's causing the resonator not to sound loud when cranking. It does sound loud when I rev the engine.

If any of you is familiar with this type of device and it settings, please share it with me.
Thank you all in advance for you response and help.

El _Panteras!

Very easy if you are familiar with basic hand tools. There's a video of the spark plugs and cabin filter change on youtube. Brake and oil change is the same as on any other car.

None of this is significantly different on the C63 and should be easy if you have done it before on another car.

Mobul 1 0w40 or Motul 8100 are very popular, but it's oil so you can find twenty page threads of people arguing over it if you want to.

Filter and spark plugs OEM or equivalent are fine. Lots of vendors online ECS tuning, pelican parts, FCP Euro, etc that offer the parts cheaper than the dealer.

When it comes to oil MB dealers in Canada are switching away from Mobil to Shell for what it is worth. There has been some chatter about lifters draining down with Mobil 1 but I cannot comment.

C63 AMG Engine Light On (After Spark Plugs replaced)

Guys, Thank you all for you comments on the spark plugs and motor oil.
I just replaced my spark plugs, (by the way) very easy after watching a video suggested by realjones88.
What happened was, after I performed the job, I cranked the car to test and the check engine light came on. After inspecting the assembly, I realized that I forgot to plugged (reconnect) one of them.
Is there any way to reset the light, or do I have to take it to the dealership for that? They are trying to hit me with an hour of diagnostic fee to plug the computer and reset it.
Please advise.

Thank you all

Just drive a few miles, it'll go off. You can erase the error with any OBD scanner/adapter, even a Bluetooth one with a mobile app.

That's not true. You have to look at the criteria of said scanner to see if it will clear Mercedes codes.

OP, invest in a Bluetooth module scan tool and download one of the many apps (ex. Torque). it is a worthwhile investment versus going to the dealer every time you need codes scanned/cleared

.
Bumping this old thread so I can get a little help, since I couldn't find searching for 10min.
A friend of mine took his 2012 991.1 Carrera to the dealership (1st wrong move here, IMO) , regular maintenance, and they told him he should change his spark plugs. His car has, believe it or not, 1682km. Total. Yeah. Kinda dumb to do that actually (what fun gives you a car if it's just sitting in your garage, right).
Anyways, I caught myself thinking "wait a minute, I've never changed my spark plugs". My car has 20k km (around 12,5k miles), and it's 5 years old. Just regular use of it. One or wto track days a year (for the lack of good tracks nearby). All other fluids done regularly.
Should I do it or not?

Plugs should be good to 60k miles. I can't imagine a need to change them sooner than that unless there was a fouling issue

Be careful with Motul...it’s a racing oil and doesn’t have as much detergents as non-racing oils that street-use cars need. Racing oils are meant to be changed after each session and aren’t meant for prolonged use.

Which OBD2 Scanners does everyone have?
