Stalling/shutting the engine off
Hello all
Within the last month my car started to have a stalling / shutting the engine down problem. It usually happens right after I start the car. There is no code, no check engine light. Just wondering if it's a known problem with these cars. Otherwise it run like a beast.

We previously spoke of your 82mm Throttle Body upgrades mounted on modified stock TB plate - could this be the causative agent? What code reader did you use (not all readers can pick up all codes)? Did we check for Vacuum Leak, and Timing? Battery is another thing I'd test.
Let us know what you find

My car is doing some of the same stuff stalling or not starting and have replaced the fuel pressure sensor but still getting the code coming up and the pumps are only getting 8.9 volts. Also we have replaced the control module new battery.

Well, the weather turned cool today, 50 degrees. The car shut off twice this morning and the code popped up
P0335
Crank Position Sensor Circuit A
Where is the CPS on the 6.3 engine?

I'd have thought under the crank pulley region, but then this engine may get it's reading from the flywheel side....I don't know myself tbh.

Just a little update, changed the CPS sensor fixed my stalling problem.
The CPS sensor is jammed between the firewall and back of driver side cylinder head. It is tight! It's hold on by a single E8 bolt. You can't possibly see it. Removing it will involve a lot of feel, curse, and pray. I should have done this when I have the intake manifold off.

Glad you got it fixed!

Switch the cable and put the bolt in the bracket and then the TORX in the bolt holding it in place by applying tension with the cable pulling the assembly against the bolt. You guide it back into position over the trans by using your extension and the cable to steer it.
I did it on my SLK320 and it worked slick.
