Any other things to check out/replace with headers install?

Car is on hoist at EC Canada now and what other things are efficient/convenient to get looked at or replaced? I know my spark plugs are due but not sure if it makes sense to do now.

Might as well replace all O2 sensors now, because the headers will blow out the old ones quickly

I wonder why is that. The primary should see the same exhaust fumes. the secondary's might see more being catless. always wondered why header cars blow through o2s

I'd like to know the rationale to this also.

How does one tell if a motor mount should be replaced? Or should I just go ahead and do them anwyays at 38k miles while the headers are getting done ?

Jack the car, take the middle shield off. Try to put your fingers between the roll bar and the oil pan. I wear XL gloves and my fingers didn't fit, the mounts were compressed as compared to the new ones 1/2"+.
After mount change, obviously they fit with 1/4" clearance or so.

I guess in my case it comes down to what are the chances mine need replacing now or soon. My car just happens to be going in for headers but only has 38k miles and I notice no signs of needing to replace them. If they cost a lot in labor and it happens my car is already booked in for headers resulting in it being an easier install, than I might go ahead and do them. But I'd prefer to wait unless it's really going to save by already have the cars in for headers - or if it's something that's going to be needing to be addressed soon anyways

Determine if this is something that's going to be needing to be addressed soon anyways, using the method above.

Mileage is not the only factory, age and number of launches are equally big factors too.

My car gets abused - hundreds of 1/4 mile runs and hours of track time - and my mounts looked fine at 34k miles. There is no rhyme or reason why some fail and others do not. It’s chance.

Sorry for bumping this thread again but would the stock manifolds or headers (if you have them) actually need to come off to get at the motor mounts? I'm just trying to judge how much work there is to doing the motor mounts before I decide if I pick them up tomorrow with my new manifold gaskets, if my car doens't really need motor mounts yet.

if you replace the mounts, I would get the East Coast Euro mounts. Those look amazing.

Here is a DIY of engine mount install. It is a little harder to do if longtube headers are already on the car. But they don't need to be removed. Easy way to tell if the mounts are bad is look up from underneath with the underpanel removed and press on the rubber portion on the bottom of the engine mount. If it is soft and gooey then it should be replaced.

You're running them now and are happy? Any improvement over OEM seems like a good idea, as long as they aren't a ton more than the stock ones. The dealership here in Canada quoted me just shy of 600 for two motor mounts.
