cracking leather - would you do this to your seat?
Guess it's just typical wear n tear with no results from most over the counter/amazon leather cleaner and conditioning products. Any other ideas?
Saw this video on YouTube and it has my interest peaked.

+3 on leatherique, lack of good conditioning cleaning and wear have caused the issue so conditioners won’t help now, needs a more aggressive rejuvenation which leatherique can do!

Ill give it a try. Will the rejuvenator oil and prestine clean do the job? Or do you think I need the crack filler or even a the dye?

Any product that leaves your leather shiny is not good.
Look at brand new cars. Is their leather shiny? No it doesn't have any shine to it which means its clean.
Most of the time shiny leather in a car means greasy and dirty leather.

wow that swissvax video is incredible. Granted that leather was very dirty to being with. 115$ for the kit (Leather Cleaner Spray, 250 ml, Leather Milk. 250 ml, Elephant Leather Fat 15 ml, Wash Towel Pure Cotton (white), Leather Brush)....tempted to try
so looking at the pics I posted, are you guys saying its just dirt/grime/etc stuck in those cracks which make it appear to be actually cracked leather? A top quality product should clean that crap out

Swissvax is just epic in every sense. And yeah, their leather cleaner works wonders - I did my M5 seats recently and they came up a treat! Beautifully matte and mint! I'll fish out pics soon and post for reference.
Also though, for the cracks, you may want to consider leather dye (matched to the seat of course). I did the seats on my W124 and the transformation was night and day. Took 10 years off the seats without a doubt. I'll post pics of that soon too. Just waiting on myself to set up a reliable photo-sharing account to replace photobucket

If you get this figured out please do share. I have the same wear on the same color and would love to be able to get it fixed.

I bought the leatherique products to try first before I start messing around with dyes. Have you tried leatherique yet? From what Ive read, leatherique wont actually remove the little cracks but it will clean out the cracks and make them much less visible

If you can find the name of your leather shade here, it might be an avenue for you:

Yes, I have been using Leatherique for years (ever since I bought the car new actually). While it keeps the leather supple and clean, it wont stop cracking.

it's leather when it ages it cracks and wrinkles , think of it as human skin when we get older we don't have baby smooth ***'s anymore. Lol but for its really hard to keep leather from cracking especially our nappa leather it's a softer hide of leather. Best way imo is to clean them periodically with a damp warm cloth and apply some conditioner like Lexol or your preferred brand and avoid parking in the sun . Or for a permanent fix you can always get some furry seat covers ?

Like I said. I have the same exact color leather, same exact wear in the same exact place. Leatherique does wonders of maintaining and cleaning the leather, but will NOT fix cracking. You probably have nice clean seats now (btw wipe down your steering wheel with the prestine clean and probably your gear shift too). Let me know if you dye and if you find the right color.

It looks like it is time to dye, the topcoat has just worn out of the cracking area, it is like when you bend a piece of metal back and forth enough it will start to weaken the die and eventually crack the topcoat and you will see the non colored leather under it.
Try these guys, they list porcelain white M493 which I think is what you have

Go with them www.ledertechnik.com
I have done it on three different cars and it works great. Just a tip, use a Mr. Clean magic eraser to clean before dying. It will take some of the original dye off but leaves a nice satin finish.
Instead of a sponge for application use a cheap airbrush kit and dilute the dye with water.
