Best custom dyno tuner for the M156 in Northeast US?
Yeah yeah, I searched. I don’t really know where to start with this. I want someone with a dyno who REALLY knows what they’re doing to spend as much time as needed to dial in my tune(s) - I want a number of switchable files for different circumstances including a 100+oct Race with a 7800 redline and intake runner tuning, Drag, Street and maybe others like Valet. I’ve been looking into HPTuners, but just don’t have the time or energy to learn it before the season starts. I want some pretty specific things tweaked as I’m about to do the bigger TBs and shorter rear gearing among other things (I want the car to behave in a very specific way on track), and I don’t mind driving anywhere in the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic for the right place. Who has some suggestions? I do not want a remote tune - I want this to be done on the spot. Again, as long as it takes.
My first thought is BrenTuning up in MA. Good reputation but not sure of their experience with the M156.

If you get a few other guys looking for custom tunes, Jerry T. and Phil B. from EC HQ will fly out and custom tune a few cars over the course of a day or two. Thats what we did here in Minneapolis last Spring. It was pretty cool having them out custom tuning all of our cars. My wife's Bi-turbo GL450 is SILLY fast haha.

Im looking also....although Im not interested in multiple tunes. But I do want the car on the rollers and dialed in correctly. Never was a fan of plug and play canned tunes\

Don't think Bren uses OE tune, i went to them to retune over my OE file. I liked it a lot better than OE.
They also do a TB tune for the trans might be another reason to head up here. Did notice a significant dif before and after.

My VB/TCU is already Weistec tuned, but if they have the ability to crack that then it’s another good sign.

Just noticed someone beat me to the response, but based on many results, I believe Kevin Baldi is who you are after. I believe he checks all your boxes, and the results he has been responsible for tuning in numerous platforms has been proven time and time again.

Ive been nothing but happy with my experience and the quality of the tune from BrenTuning. I brought my car to him 3 weeks after I bought it and he is constantly updating files to stay ahead of the curve. Im currently working with him on some handheld selectable files right now for FL model years as he has finally nailed functionality, looking forward to getting the new maps loaded.
As far as experience, he tunes a handful of the local New England and New York C63 and M156 cars as well as a handful of the new 5.5L and 4.0L applications. One of his previous personal vehicles was the C63 that won a local all-motor shootout and his current E63 is an absolute monster.
I previously sent my STi to Bren and had great results and wont hesitate to send him any car I own in the future.
