EflexFuel Kit Installed

I think his question is WHY would you even want to run race fuel at 8x the cost of E85. And I am not sure the eflexfuel kit couldn't run it. All it does is measure the amount of ethanol and adjust the delivery. If it doesn't sense any ethanol it won't make any corrections and the fuel system will run as it does stock.

that is the dumbest thing to do and defeats the whole purpose of using e85

I'm not saying anyone would run E85 and race gas. If you don't know why someone might want to use C16 instead of E85, or be able to switch between fuels, I'm not going to explain that to you.

Are you retarded? Im telling you that the AFD system can run any blend of race fuels, pump gas, and E85. The eFlex unit can not run race fuel at all, or at least this is what VRP told me on Instagram when I asked.

there is no need for the injectors to be fooled to dump more fuel on race gas to hit target air fuel ratio.
if someone is running c16 you can bet your motor they are running a dedicated map for c16 and good luck using c16 on our cars with how sensitive our o2 sensors are.

you dont need to do anything but run your tuned race gas map with race gas period.e85 needs more fuel to hit its target air fuel while race gas dosnt.its actuall gas not alcohol.

This is everything that comes with the EC/AFD kit. Group buy with injectors was 1600. Do these other kits come with everything in the picture? Ive seen a different kit that doesnt have the clips and you need to install the harness pins yourself.

as I researched their thread, that appeared early on with injectors until they figured out you don’t need injectors if you aren’t running headers. So my understanding is the kit is now $1600 WITHOUT injectors. So that’s why I want to know, why is it 4x the price?!

Kit difference it that the eflexfuel kit just comes with a rubber fuel line instead of steal braided and you have to pin the connectors. Neither kit comes with injectors anymore.

Only differences I see are that the wires are already inserted into the injector adaptors (which appear exactly the same as the adaptors in the eflex kit) and the fuel hose comes with a metal elbow. Not really sure why. Otherwise not much difference. Ethanol sensor appears identical and the wiring is very similar. Plug to control box appears identical too.

Just spoke to the folks at eflexfuel and they wanted me to let you guys know that you can run any type of gas you want. Their kit WILL handle race gas, although they said it may be pointless with e85, but if anyone has a reason to run it, their kit will do it. Also, they suggested buying directly from eflexfuel.com as it's a little cheaper on their website than through eBay.

E85 is a buck cheaper per gallon here so it's a no brainer if you have access. Plus you pick up some extra hp and get the protection of running 100+ octane fuel. Go for it!

Hey , I was wondering if you could help me out on the e flex fuel install. I got the kit and wired everything up, verified the power side of the harness plug + 12 volts matched everything up or so I thought, and when I start the car I get a bunch of misfire codes. The first time it was just on one on 4 cylinder the second time it was one on

5 and 7. To my understanding it does not matter in which order you install the connectors because the ecu controls the firing order. Turned everything back to stock and the car is perfect without a cel. I’m trying to figure out if I have a faulty system or if I really messed up the pin orientation. Do you remember if your plugged looked like this? Red on the outside on the left bank? Also does the car have to be running to connect to the app, because I could not see it on Bluetooth.

The pin orientation is the same for every plug so if you had it reversed I'd think you'd get many more misfires. I had a problem on mine when I tried to force one of the pins into the connector and damaged the wire connection on that pin, causing a msifire on cyl 2. That may be what's happened with yours. I had to have eflex send me a new rig and that fixed it. Check the wires on the connectors that are throwing the code. See if you have continuity between lead ends...if you need help trouble shooting, pm me and I'll send you my cell.

That looks like the right pin orientation for what it's worth. Have you tested to make sure your ground connection is good? With blue tooth, when you open the eflex app on your phone you don't see the eflex connection right under mb bluetooth? And it doesn't pop up when you search for available devices? It should connect with key in pos 1 or 2. If you don't see it when searching with your phone it sounds like it may not be powered up....which would have to be the ground.

What is everyone's ethanol percentage they are getting from the pump in your area? The places around here (southeastern us) are only giving me 40% and sometimes 50% at most. Hopefully they'll start getting the good stuff with warmer weather.

The eurocharged kit is great if you don't know how to work on cars, but for people with an ounce of ability (you could direct wire the eflex kit in 45 min if you wanted to) why spend the extra $1200? It's two pins inserted into a connector. Not exactly rocket science. I caused my issue by being too impatient. Not eflex's fault.

I topped up a quarter tank of 93 the other day and ended up at 60%. There's a sign on the pump I use that says "contains no less than 75% ethanol".

But on a different note. How is everyone mouting the harness? Are you laying it on top of the oem harrness and using zip ties to secure it? When I did that I wasnt able to put the insulation pads in place and have the airboxes sit correctly. I managed to get the harness underneath the fuel rail and ziptied to the fuel rail and the pads sit correct but some connections are touching the intake manifold. Im sure those insulation pads absorb a fair amount of heat to prevent heat transfer to the airboxs but are they reall necessary?
