Lifters, who did what?
So I'm going to re post the part numbers, but essentially there was a part number for lifters for the 08-09 cars, then from 2010 and on, as well as SLS a different part number.
So, one reads over and again " upgrade to the SLS lifters".
Meanwhile there is only a different part number for the SLS Black series lifters.
That engine certainly has different camshafts.
So my question is, beyond "knowing that they fit", has anybody installed SLS Black Series lifters on a C63 and is there feedback ?
Not the regular and identical to C63 SLS lifters.

I think the SLS BS lifters are titanium and have a different coating on them. They are like $1000 more IIRC. They will work but werent worth it when I did mine. I just went with the updated M156 lifters.

I believe these are the SLS Black Series Lifters for the M156 that you mention, Vladds - they are available from Weistec:

Appears they have some kind of 'anti-friction' coating, applied to entire surface area (not just partial).
What is the MB Part Number for these lifters?

I found my previous posting about lifters part numbers.
Here it is:
Ok:Looks like there are 4 series of SLS/197.Perhaps they had a facelift too.
The tappets are A 156 050 02 25 and A 159 050 00 00 for code P98 (black series).The part numbers stay the same through the SLS 4 production series.
for the base pre facelift C63, the tappets are: A 156 050 02 25 (this is for my 2010, by the vin number),
let me try for older ones, by the model:
OK, by the model, there used to be an A156 050 00 25 and there's a big note that it was replaced by A 156 050 02 25. there is no different part number for the C63 Black series.
Under my opinion, the tappets should be matched with the cams. If the part number of the cams for the SLS black series is different than every other cams, then those tappets matched to say a regular C63 is a case of try and see.
In sum, there are three possible tappets: The ones you have if you have a 2008 or 2009 C 63, the ones that everyone else has subsequently and the SLS black series ones.
Also, just in case somebody ... happens to find in their drawer SLS black series lifters and wants 2 lb of gold for them, the price for one brand new is $32.20/ea
So the price for a set is $1,030.
I was hoping to have someone post a testimonial that is running them, maybe these make the engine quiet?

This is what I remember from when I had tappets replaced in my 2010 C63.
The older ones which were in from factory, received an updated (SLS tappets non black series) those where changed where the oil wouldn't drain as fast as in the older tappets to reduce the so well known tappet knocking after start up.
The Black series tappets have an anti friction coating to withstand the 7750RPM on the black series. (7250RPM for non black series)
So if you are not planning on changing the rev. limit then there is no need to go with the black series tappets.

For clarification, of the 2 part numbers you listed above, which is for the SLS *Black Series* lifters? (I'd assume the one starting with 159)

I believe member CaptnCharisma had installed the SLS Black Series lifters during his engine rebuild

Ok, so my memory is fuzzy about the results but I am 100% sure that Tasos addressed the differences in all the upgrade parts in one of his videos. Seems like he had a standard 156 and an SLS 156 disassembled side by side and was comparing parts. I also remember that he DID provide the part numbers for each engine, NOT as reported by WIS or parts catalog or rumor but he actually read the part numbers from the parts themselves as they were removed from the engine
