Not to start a new oil thread but this might be our best oil

I had 2 choices
229.5 5w50 and 229.5 high performance 0w40
I went with regular 5w40. anyone know the difference and know what oil mb is using today in the regular 5w40?
Not sure but have you got the figures correct: 5w50, 0w40, 5w40 in 229.5?
The AMG High Performance 0W-40 is the euro-spec Mobil 1 FS 0W-40 in an AMG branded bottle.
I noticed that it had the C63 credentials on the bottle.
I immediately thought that this means that the LiquiMoly 5w40 must have the Fiat Abarth credentials and therefore I can unify the oil supply to my fleet.
Nope!
The LiquiMoly doesn't specify the Fiat standard.

I think I will wait until my oil cooler upgrade arrives and I have to drain the whole system anyway and change over from Mobil 1 to the Pennzoil.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I have never seen a VOA of the AMG High Performance 0W-40 oil, but have heard directly both from an industry professional and a senior Mercedes technical rep that it is re-branded euro-spec (100% lab synthesized base stocks, not hydro cracked petroleum or natural gas derived base stocks that can also be marketed as "synthetic" in America) Mobil 1 0W-40.
To me "really heavy honey oil" would suggest the opposite as a heavier oil has more friction and flows less readily than a lighter one.
