Great thread, still need to get round to doing all this to mine which I have owned new since 2013.

Can I ask did you get the pre facelift valve covers because they are metal for powdercoat or was there any other reasons like they are more robust than the facelift ones which are probe to hairline cracks?

I mainly only git them so I could powder coat them! I like my car to have function and form. But I guess you could say I killed 2 birds with one stone as mine did not crack, or yet anyway.

They were also only a 100 bucks on i think car-part.com. bought them from a salvage yard that had them listed. Hell, I think new composite ones are like 270 each.

Ok, so still waiting to get my intake made. Hopefully this weekend me and my fabricator will get it done.

But, here's another little project I've been working on myself at work. My front diff mount must be getting squishy because i now have some light grooves on my carbon driveshaft. Which literally scares the **** out of me now that I threw a whipple on. Theres roughly 3/8 to 1/2 gap between the driveshaft and heat shield for the fuel tank and its still rubbing. So I'm guessing I'm torqueing the hell out of the mount. Since noone makes a poly one I decided to tackle it myself.

I had my buddy who works for mercedes order me a new mount and decided to tear it apart. I also ordered a 12 inch black ***** of 80A polyurethane rod stock 2 in in diameter. Made a new steel bushing insert as the original was cheap aluminum. Its not pretty but I feel its going to be pretty functional and work well...... I hope. Now I have no experience with machining poly and honestly have no idea what the **** im doing with it nor did I have the proper tooling to machine it on a lathe. But all in all I think it turned out decent and should work as intended.

Forgot to mention that I'll couple this with the kmac rear diff mounts to make it solid.

Front diff mount? I hadn’t even thought of that. I’ve got the KMACs going in now, will have to look at the front mount when I get the car back. Nice work!

I'm torqueing the front of the diff enough under loading the car for launching and it was causing rubbing. Which is a big yikes with carbon driveshaft. I feel like if I could get machining efficiency up I could make the complete mount with new oem housing for about 100-120 bucks. So ill look into it a bit more.

Here's the grooves in my driveshaft which are hard to see. Granted I can fit my hand between the heat shield and shaft but I also have skinny fingers and not sausage links......

Yikes dude, that’s really not good, sorry. I’ve heard that carbon likes to fracture around light damage like that. Might look into getting that repaired if possible. Maybe ask QA1 or DSS what you should do.

Need to take a look at mine now...

Intake looks great dude. Think about putting vents in the hood above the filters.

I cut the intake funnel on an angle to try to divert the incoming "ram air" right into the filters. But I am looking into a carbon vented hood in the future.

as in what specifispecifically? Oil Temps? Coolant Temps? Or just under Temps in general. I know a vented hood will help alot once I get there. I hate to say it but I wish I had 2 of these cars. One fir my street/drag toy and another fir road race track car.

All of the above since airflow through the coolers has a better exit point.

After a session on the road coarse it didn't feel like opening the BBQ lid after max burn to clean the grill.

So intakes are done, and maf provisions are all welded in. Car is home and have a busy weekend ahead of me. Have to thoroughly clean the intakes and get everything installed.

I also have to finish the wiring on my ice tank pump, I went with a Bluetooth 30 amp relay to be able to control the pump on off from Bluetooth through an app on my phone. Will be good when packing it with ice fir a race etc.

Also, Getting the car dropped off at the tuners on Sunday. He'll have it pretty much all week. Hoping it definitely puts down my power goals of 650-680whp on 93. Tuner is talking about limiting it to 550-600whp with out built trans and head studs. I know very well what the car should do and we'll see how things go. Im well aware of trans concerns and since my car is FL p31 not worried about head studs yet. And if the head gasket goes ill get weistec ones anyway. So fingers crossed they don't get a conservative on me and make the power I want it to.

Anyway, here's a few pics of the maf area of the intakes and the Bluetooth relay.

every tuner is different, but I haven't found the need to limit torque on a customer's 600whp supercharged setup.

can't wait to see how your setup puts power down! what boost is your setup configured for ar the moment?

I'm not sure, I have 60mm pulley installed. I'm guessing 13 ish psi from what I've seen with unported heads.

I agree on limiting torque, guys are running over 700whp on cast engines, my p31 should be just fine.

Awesome build man, this is going to be a beast of a car once it's tuned, very interested to see the #'s. Are you doing anything for cooling aside from the Ice Tank?

I went with the Snow Performance stage 3 kit, w/ the dual nozzle pre blower. Winter hit before I had a chance to try out the 60mm pulley at the track unfortunately.

E85 would be ideal, but a full fuel system build isn't really in the budget right now for me - so I'll probably just run MS109.

I'm in the same boat, Im starting a business and not in my budget for a full fuel system. I have the 60mm installed but with no extra cooling right now I think its going to hurt my numbers. Ill order the aem meth kit as I have installed 3 or 4 of them. Ill put it on after its tuned.
I was gonna get a ms109 map also but im cheap and not paying fir race gas. Ill just wait till I can go e85 etc.

Also intakes are finished and installed along with my a pic of my hoosiers

I like the modified snorkel to direct air near the intakes. Would have been nice if the filters could fit (assuming they’re don’t) back a little more directly inline but looks good

what filters? The oem air boxes do fit perfectly fine. I just want some bling to go with the blower, its all about show and go.

Nevermind you meant the cone filters, yea they have to be where they're at to fit properly. And chopping the intake funnels will definitely direct fresh cooler air into the filter area.
