There is a purpose-made hose for exactly this job - was shipped with the Magnuson Hammer kit.
It is available from VCM in Australia (vcm-performance com au)

If one thing is clear from this thread, it's that you are building the car the right way to handle that.

What were your impressions after switching from Motul?

honestly, none! I think the motul would've been just fine. However for how I drive i think 300v would be better suited for it. Just nit willing to spend that money yet for a specific racing oil. The 5w50 says racing but still has a stout additive pack. Although I still change my oil at 5k or less.

Appreciate the perspective, thank you.

Looks like a legitimate brand with a strong track across a number of platforms. Would be interesting to see a UOA on it.

Well, most of you that don't have me on Facebook or Instagram didn't know I had surgery last week and was immobile for the last 7/8 days. So today I got into to the garage today and got my meth tank frame and mounting straps fabbed and mocked up. I also drilled the hole in the generic tank I bought and installed the bulkhead fitting. Ill get the frame mounted in the trunk soon.

Little off topic, those of you that don't know me on Facebook etc. I had surgery and was down for a couple weeks.
While being off I had to fix the oil leak in my ml350 bluetec....... the dreaded oil cooler seals leaking. So I spent the last 2.5 days getting it fixed. Anyone that knows about these, this job literally made people get rid of these things or trade them in because its a **** job. My MB master tech buddy says he charges 18 hours on the job and does it way faster than I did on my first time. Anyway it cost me roughly 200 bucks in parts vs 3-4k at the dealer. I will get also a tune to delete the emissions soon.

Here's pics of the job

Cleaned the carbon out of the intake enough to satisfy me. Its not new but 45mins- hour on each manifold with screw drivers and wire brush. Then vacuumed it all out. Same with the ports on the heads.
took it out for initial test drive and check and it runs good. I put a new fuel filter and air filters as it was time for those as well. But at full throttle ill bet this thing picked up 30whp+ its a monster now more than it was, and it can't wait to see the fuel mileage increases ill pick up.

Tank bracket looks good. Are you mounting opposite of the fuse access panel?

We do a couple big road trips every summer, so to save space I'm running a hidden set up with a little bulk head to clear the neck of tank.

My ice tank sits a little higher than where the carpet rest. So it already a little higher, the meth tank should sit about the same height.
I also don't load up my car that much as its my toy.

I ordered my 82mm throttle body adapters and waiting for them to arrive. I have to port the inlet to make the opening big enough to support the airflow. Looks like ill be pulling my blower soon to pull it apart and get to making my 82s work on my car.

i would have bought the adapters from one of the vendors here, but at 3 times the price and no "insane holiday" deals...... you all know who it is, sell another product for alot more than other companies but doing us a favor. A small discount would've been nice as I was looking to pick up 2 sets for me and s buddy. But found fabtech has them for 50 bucks each so I bought 2 asap from them.

Let's just hope I pull the blower make my projected mods and put it back on without trying to drum up new ideas thatll leave it down longer........
a few of you already know my ideas/plans!!

So I pulled the blower this morning since I didn't work at my part time job. It makes it easier to get the inlet off. So I can port it for the 82mm throttle bodies and drill and tap for the meth nozzle for now.

Also, now that the blower is off it could definitely use some porting. Which im gonna check around for, kong wants 1275 which is a little steep if you ask me. I think stiegemeier was 895. Ill call whipple when they open to see what they can do. I'd honestly like to see 800whp on 93 pump and 100% meth with porting and 82s. Because i have another big idea for the future but I want the car running for now to enjoy this year, then next winter move ahead with my future possible upgrade.

The 82mms are quite a bit bigger in size...... obviously but putting the gasket on the 74 really shows it.

And where I marked the orange dot on the back of the inlet is where ill drill and tap for the meth nozzle. Itll be hidden in the back and spray right in the center of the center of the inlet.

And lastly, pic of the inlet side of the blower definitely showing it could use a port job.

Posting here to keep your FS thread on topic. Which intake setup are you going to be switching to?

I'm want to go with 3.5 inch titanium tubes now. Since the 82s are about that size, i was just sizing the intakes accordingly. Plus I like the oxidized look of titanium.

Haven't made much progress, waiting on my second throttle body adapter to show up since they only sent 1. Im gonna get my blower case ported also to maximize bigger TB's. This morning when I came home from work and pulled the rotors out of the case to get it ready to ship out. Ill be repaint the case and inlet as the paint is pretty crappy and chips and scuffs very easily.

My second adapter plate showed up Saturday. So I brought the inlet into work and got to porting it out to match the 82mm adapter flanges. I also glass beaded it because I really don't like the paint they used on the blower and inlet, so once the case comes back ill repaint them with something a little more durable. Here's some pics of my progress.

Forgot about drilling and tapping the inlet for the meth nozzle and future nitrous. So picked a good spot so its out of the way and hidden. Just waiting on my paint to show up so I can spray it.

lol, thanks!

Somedays its therapeutic but most it gives me anxiety because i hate how long this project is drawing out. If i didnt work so much and had it done sooner id be ecstatic. Im just doing the best I can and laying out my progress every step of the way, alot of info isn't as easily available on here so I'm trying to show everyone what I'm doing and how its working out.

Hi Phil!

Did you have rubbing or scrubbing with 275/40 R17 Hoosier DR2?

Which parameters for Weld S-77?

Thanks

I dont have any rubbing issues with the 275s

Also the welds are 17x9 but they do not make them in our bolt pattern. So I had them sent to a machine shop to redrill them and put steel inserts in.
