Uh oh... 2-3 shift rpm flare
I dont think this is related to any mods, i've had the same mods on for a long time. And only happens during 2-3 upshift. More noticeable under heavy load. Happens in all modes.
Is it simply time for transmission service? Or symptom of a larger problem?
Really worried about this one guys, please any helpful advice is welcome. Smartass comments welcome too
Car is at 110k km, tranny last serviced by previous owner at dealer around 60k. So I'm due for transmission service soon. Really hope that this can fix it and theres nothing wrong inside the transmission.
Edit: I spoke with a mechanic friend, he suspects its an ECU/TCU issue because it's only happening on 2-3 upshift. Or its somewhere in the torque converter, so recommended a fluid change. So its not the end of the world according to him!

I just my car serviced today which included a trans service (56k Klms). Having reported the flare to the mb dealer, they also performed an "adaptation" on the trans. They showed me a printout before/after the adaptation which showed the line pressure increased after the adaptation at two of the three temp measurements and was now in spec. The other temp line pressure was already in spec.
I drove the car home from the dealer this afternoon and the flare had gone. However I'd need to also drive it first thing tomorrow morning to confirm the "adaptation" was a complete success. I also noticed the shifts were a whole lot smoother on all shifts and now there is also virtually no jerkiness which I previously thought was par for the course with this car. Overall I'm impressed with change in the behaviour of transmission.....so much smoother.
Now if there is no flare on the 2nd to 3rd shift in the morning.....I need to load my Eurocharged V7 tune

Thanks a lot for the input! Glad to hear that your problem was resolved. Hopefully reset adaptations/trans service will resolve my problem too.

I’m really not trying to be a dïck. You need to relax about your car man, all of this is going to drive you mad.

I'm just really worried about even the little stuff... I treat my car really well and want to keep it for a long time. So I'm always listening for sounds, weird stuff etc. Plus i dont have that much experience with car ownership, and this is my daily.
Maybe you guys are right and its causing me too much stress. Really appreciate everything here from the
members, whether in good faith or not.

IMHO you either need to relax and trust in the German engineering and just enjoy it, or find something simpler.
These are solid cars and you can generally trust them not to break catastrophically if you treat them right (with the headbolt exception of course). Nothing wrong with asking questions, but jeez.... RELAX
