End of tire life rear Michelin's, even wear
I have the pictures with the end of tire life of my rear Michelin Supersports. You can see the markers in the middle of the threads.
Yet the inner edge is fine.
I do a dealership alignment.
I don't take the car to the drag strip or race track, these saw around 6 burnouts and lasted 8000 miles or so. Probably less than 10 k

Fairly normal... why pressure do you maintain on them?

So here are some things:
Yes more worn in the middle which suggests too much air. I'm running 40 PSI. By 39 my warning kicks in.
But here's a question for you guys:
Do burnouts wear the center of the tire more ? Because the process of the burnout stretches the center?
As far as how come I don't re use these say for my other car:
Got a flat and went to have one of the tires patched and got turned down because of minimum depth.
What exactly the depth is ill measure but in the center the grooves have the mandatory minimum depth bridges. Once the bridge is flush with the face of the tire you're at minimum which is 1.6mm or I think 2/32?
My plan was to take these off and put them on my Subaru summer wheels. But nobody will patch them.

As far as the rest:
What a great tire !
Just 3 days ago it was raining and I was doing 60 Mph, no hydroplaning no nothing. Just as you see them.
What exactly the specs of the alignment are :
First of all, this is my second set of rear tires that I'm posting as being worn even in the rear.
I always did my alignments at Sears. So did the same here when I got the car in 2016. But then my front tires still wore uneven so decided to go to Mercedes.
Cost me $300 for the alignment and got a E400 coupe for the day.
The tires wore even and I decided to investigate why.
The WIS shows the specs for the alignment in a weird table.
There are two columns, one is the base number and one is a add or subtract value. This second value is in different units. So while the base is in degrees seems like the second is in units of arc.
Maybe the regular neighborhood machines don't do units of arc for the second column value to go in? Maybe it requires a Mercedes sourced Euro unit that has these ?
I'm not saying it's a fact and I'll post the table.
But for me it's Mercedes alignment from now on.

I have found the my rear centres wear quicker irrespective of pressure.
In any event having had a couple of sets of MPSS I find that by the time the tyre is over half worn there has been a serious loss of grip. I change mine over before they hit the bar marker because I appreciate having traction. The changeovver is of course preceeded by a short period of absolutely flogging them knowing there is plenty to wear down and they will soon be gone.
