TL;DR My engine has 0 compression in two cylinders & 2 others with low compression. Anybody experience this?
This is just for research purposes and to pick your guys’ brain on what you think is the ultimate culprit. But two of my cylinders have 0 compression and another two have 110psi & 105psi compared to the normal 140-145ish I believe I am supposed to have. First and foremost this is still being evaluated on what is the main problem with my engine but let me share some notable things.
Maintenance:
Always changed oil at 4-5k miles. Used Ceratec and Mo2 every change.
Never fully ran e85. I always used 91 on the regular. Only used e85 a total of maybe 19 times since I installed it. At this is in a year span.
Jan 2019
I had everything except the flex fuel and injectors installed. At first I had Jerry fix my tune that he sent me which was giving me bad power surges at 3rd gear. So really didnt get to start really having fun with my car till July 2019.
July 2019
Installed my e85 kit and injectors. Now I am really having fun and doing some rolls here and there.
Aug 2019
Start installing my black series kit and this is where my car sits in the garage for the next 5 months due to time and scheduling to get it finished. Note I left e85 in the tank while it sat. COMPLETELY not fully thinking about the risk of corrosion, etc.
January 2020
Finally get my wheels in and install 100% of the kit. Now I am driving it again. But no racing or anything because I still wasn’t finished with the kit.
March 2020
Here is the month it completely gives out. First thing to happen is my whole bank 2 side started misfiring. Then my bank 1 side shortly after. Replaced both 02 sensors, all spark splugs, and two coils. Running good again. But now I’m misfiring out of cylinder 1. Switched the coils with cylinder 4 to see if the misfire follows the coil but instead of following it the misfire just completely goes away. Strange. Running good, but a week later now I’m noticing the misfire again and after running the scanner I have a knock sensor running short to positive circuit and cylinder 1 misfire. Diagnose it and cant figure out why the misfire is being caused. Reset the codes and now shes running good. Here comes the day it gives. I did a 40 roll with a 5.0. Only did 1 run and she ran good. Drove for 2 more miles before getting off on the exit of the freeway and as soon as I reached 2k rpm she completely shut off. & here we are now. This wednesday I will do a leak down test and see if we can trace why there is no compression in the two cylinders. But even then, the other two having low compression has me on edge.
Whats your guys thoughts? Anybody else experience this?
It sounds to me like you had faulty fuel injectors at the time your car was misfiring.
What generation injectors are you running? Because of the high H20 levels, E85 tends to cause a sticking problem with stainless steel injectors, especially if they are left to sit with e85 in the system, which is not recommended. How did you know the car was misfiring? The time that Bank 1 was misfiring, did the check engine light flash repeatedly? If the car was constantly misfiring I would have completely shut off the engine and towed it to a Mercedes technician shop for further diagnosis. I pray that you didn't hydrolock your engine.
my recommendation is to buy a boroscope and see whats up with each cylinder. i picked one up on amazon for $80 to inspect the condition of my own pistons not too long ago just to see how things were looking during my spark plug change.
where in the bay area are you located? i'd offer my assistance, but with the whole COVID-19 stuff, not sure its safe for either of us to meet.
mustangs won't even engage me. they literally drop to 5mph under the speed limit if i show any attention to them. 350R's, ZL1's, and Z06's are the apple of my eye.

I had the injectors that eurocharged sent me with the kit: Bosch-0280158123-4.
I knew the misfire was coming back because at 50-80 mph I would feel surges and at idle it would have surges.
When Bank 1 started misfiring the check engine light did repeatedly flash.

Did you have these issues before switching the injectors out? Also, anytime the check engine light flashes repeatedly do not drive the car.

Actually a good idea I'll try and find one in stores. Amazon will take forever right now.
I am in the east bay. My home is in Antioch and my shop in Walnut Creek.
Dude over here on this side mustangs have no idea about the m156 lol. Before all of this back in July I danced with a c7 full bolt on cammed and gapped him. He was so skeptical lol

Nope, never had any of these issues until after starting up the car again in Jan/Feb from the 5 months of it sitting. When the check engine started flashing I towed the car to my shop and fixed the issue with the sensors and plugs next day. Ran good and normal but then kept failing like I mentioned.

How long have you owned the car? Were the head bolts ever replaced? Symptoms of the head bolt failure are misfires and loss of coolant. How are your coolant levels?
thats a good catch. have we confirmed that we are on old head studs?
in regards to curb huggers fretting the AMG badge...i believe many on this side of the bay are very familiar with these videos. i believe the last video was recorded in the fremont/hayward area.

I owned it since 51k. Had it for 2 years and we checked the bolts, none gave out
Man sorry...ate through the bucket? Surprised it happened quite early at 80k miles. Was car maintained well prior to you buying it? Well glad you got a new engine now.
There were no ticking noises before the engine stopped.
I changed my buckets out at 100,000 klms (60k/miles).
A few had straight across wear marks where they had stopped rotating but nothing serious.
