Front Rotors Warped

I had all of my brakes pads changed and front rotors change about 1 year ago , since then I had my front rotors change ( still under warranty ) 4 times already, under normal driving , not racing it. The dealership can’t even tell me what causing it to warp , anyone one here have any clue ? They ran all the diagnostic they can run and still can’t figure it out. Thanks

Only thing i know that can do this is going through cold water with hot brake discs ..

Is it fronts? the one piece or is it a PP or 507 with the 2 piece rotors?

It is really hard to warp the brakes on these cars, they are so large and heavy and oversized and almost no one ever mentions it on the forum. As above, really takes hot rotors and cold water to do it.

When you say warped, is it pedal pulsing and is the dealer measuring run out on the car and determining they have excessive runout?

One of the only other things I have seen that can cause a warp was significantly over torque wheel lugs and that would probably only affect the one piece rotors but worth a check in case they are just putting them on with the air gun to 250 ft lbs or something crazy. After that I would think the dealer would start looking at calipers as something is causing an issue and it isn't 4 sets of defective disks.

They're not warped. You have uneven pad transfer on the surface of the rotor. Do you drag your brakes a lot? Light pressure (braking softly over longer distances) can cause this.

Take your car out on an empty road and do a pad bed in.

Always bed your brakes properly. https://www.zeckhausen.com/catalog/i...Path=6446_6443

Thanks

Thanks guys appreciate the feedback, when they changed my rotors they change the brake pads too , I do slightly step on the brakes too , I’ll stop doing that , I start noticing it at high speed my steering wheel starts vibrating. I never wash my car when it’s still hot. I guess I’ll ask the dealership again to check it thoroughly . Again thank you for the great feedback

Control Arm Bushing

Somebody suggested that it could be my control arm bushing ? I have about 62k miles on this car, is it worth it getting changed ? Thanks

Update

I had my control arm replaced and my rotors and brake pads replaced ( still within warranty) the dealership try to blame me ( assuming that I am racing my car ) totally not . I don’t feel any vibrations anymore since the control arm was replaced and it actually feels like a brand new car .

I had warped discs on mine when i bought it, so dunno how they became warped, but warped they were.

One reason to get warped discs is hot and into water and stopping before the heat is spread evenly again, but there are one another way also.
Not cleaning the surfaces the disc is mounted on, and the surface that meets the disc on the rim.

I tried to change pads and cleaning it, but it was to late, new discs was the thing.
And the old ones weren´t actually old, been on the car for a months he said.

Measured them for fun with a micrometer, they were within 0.01mm difference in thickness all around.
And when measuring with a dial indicator the had 0.2mm runout.

So warped they were!

New discs and proper bedding of the pads, no more problem =)
