PTG 4L Supercharger Thread
No better than our first being about our favorite engine and products for the M156 equipped C63! Please welcome the PTG 4L Supercharger System to MB World.
The goal at PTG was to design and produce the biggest and best supercharger system for the M156, and the result is nothing short of just that. Link to System below..

2008 MB C350 4MATIC/2011 CL63 AMG/2014 C63 Coupe 507
Im just right behind you Eric hahaha.
After a very long 2 years of downtime (waiting for many parts from many vendors, due to covid, shops closing due to covid), and other factors, my C63 507 coupe engine build with PTG SC is almost complete. I am dying, absolutely dying, to get my car back.
This if for the C63 m156 507 coupe with fully built / forged internals and custom sleeved engine, PTG race camshafts, and much more..can't wait.

That’s super impressive and looks sexy 👌
Im guessing the transmission needed a rebuild even on the mild 7xxwhp levels?

Is it the same belt driving all aux stuff?
alternator,servo,ac etc etc?
I had kleemansetup in my old c55, and huge problems with beltslip.
I hope this one works better =)

2016 C63S AMG
Such a nice system. We’re doing an install on a friends C63 Black Series. Should be wrapped up pretty soon. Extremely nice quality and everything is massive.

really cool system. interesting to see what people do for transmission. v12 box? glide?
does anyone know if vrp is developing a 3.8L kit? Gen 5 rotors are a big leap, flow better and much cooler

It is a mistake to use a toothed belt (cogged) drive on any twin-screw/Roots supercharger - the multi-rib ensures that there is some slippage available for "overrun" or deceleration situations such as ultra-fast gear changes and rev-limiter bouncing. Many superchargers have been destroyed by the inertia of the rotors fighting a 'direct-drive' deceleration. I took some high-speed video of what happens to the supercharger belt on rev-limiter bouncing... it was scary enough to change my driving style.

I think it’s awesome someone else is coming out with a supercharger. However, I’d suggest a smaller supercharger to help with the cost. A 2300 or 2650 is more than enough for this motor and will have a higher fun factor in my opinion. Having owned more supercharger cars with different blower sizes i always found the instant torque from a mid size blower to be way more fun than the larger blowers as they do take time to build torque and boost. Just my opinion. If you have a good intercooler and heat exchanger heat soak shouldn’t be an issue

There are already smaller chargers available and at one time the tvs 2300 was available. A 2650 kit would probably get some interest but I think the 2300 would just have people opt for the options already available
The 4.0 is a nice alternative to the ones already available and should be able to make more power than the others on the market thus far.
