Hi guys im 15 and I am buying my first car, I found this 2009 c63 on fb market place and was wondering if its a good deal. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...7747477808739/
He hasnt really given me much info but we did agree on 15k. I dont know what questions to ask so please tell me what I should ask.
Edit: Btw he has sent me vid of the interior and it looks great but if I am not mistaken p31 models have suede leather steering wheels and this one didnt. Red flag?
Thanks

I noticed he has flex fuel listed. I would get a list of all the mods he has done to the car. Get a Carfax.

Ok thank you, I asked him about it and he says he has a little tune from a hand held device he got with the car is this a good thing or a bad thing?
Also sick build thats sort of my goal with this car if I do end up buying it.
Thanks

Example: You don't know what type of flex fuel kit he has on the car or the type of tune. Does the car need special fuel, e85, a mix of e85 and regular gas? If it's only e85, do you have gas stations around you that can supply that? Have you tested the gas there to see if the ratio is sufficient enough to run?
This is just one of the hundreds of questions you need to research and ask. Please do your due diligence first, then come back and ask questions.

I won't give any c63 specific advice since you've already been given a wealth of links to read into. I'll give some very general advice though. Zero interior pictures. Zero information on maintenance history is listed. This is literally the cheapest C63 in the nation. And he went down by $4500 on his listing price. Maybe this is the best deal in the world. Maybe you're the slickest talking 15 year old in the world getting a guy to go 23% under his asking price. Or maybe there are a lot of red flags right off the start.
ONE thought on the C63 in general--this is a lot of HP for a 15 year old. I 100% would've gotten myself killed in this car at 15.

if you are 15 years old...have your parents buy you a new car. you don't want to own a car with costly repairs.
if you must buy a used car...i'd recommend something affordable to maintain and keep on the road.

Seriously, learn to be a responsible defensive driver driver first. Invest any extra money towards learning to drive on a track first with good instruction at an HDPE or brand sponsored event.

Hi thanks for the advice, I drive right now around town and in the hills near my house a pretty fast is300 with around 400hp. Ive worked on that thing a lot and know a little bit about it and also most ls cars/trucks but I have never worked on german vechiles since my dad isnt a huge fan. I have finally saved up enough money and saw this great "deal". I think I will check it out and use those link and the advice of others and you to make a decision weather to buy it or not. I do also think its pretty sketchy but also dont want to miss out. I hope its a great deal and ill keep you guys updated. Im going to go into looking at this car with an open mind and also put what you guys had to say in mind. Also one thing I heard is that the rear of this car can get thrown around very easily which probebly isnt the best thing. If I do buy might add some coils and rubber.
Thanks bro!
Thanks bro!

Hi Barry thanks for the response, I persoannly like to work on cars so if its a little project im ok with it, I just dont want to be having to drop a lot of money into it. Labor im ok with since itll be me doing it but if I have to replace the engine I wont be happy lol. Like I said to other peoplw im going in with a open mind and if anythings fishy I look more into it.
Thanks
Thanks

I like to think im a safe and defensive driver since thats what my dad has been teaching me since day one and I also used to race motorcycles. I agree I havent driven in such a high hp car but if I drive safely and take my time into it I can make it work. Do you also have this car?

I didn't even see the "I'm 15" part. @OP, it doesn't matter what experience you think you have or what you're currently capable of working on or driving....it's not enough. We get these posts every couple of weeks and I think only one out of the hundreds of those threads had a responsible adult who was teaching and getting the son into professional lessons and classes and taking all the appropriate measures.
If you really are dead seat on a C63, save up more and get a better one.

Everyone told me not to buy a liter bike when I was 19 too. I think it's great advice in general, but there are exceptions. It really depends on how responsible the person is. We all started somewhere, and I know 50 year olds that behave worse than some 15 year old kids. If your parents are OK with this idea I think that says a lot, but just be safe.

from my perspective i'm not doubting the responsibility....its the cost of maintenance and repair...any given thing could be upwards of 5k a year annually for anything Mercedes or M156 powered.

Same for me I ride a yz450 and a beta 500 in the dirt and nothing but good things came from it. Hoping this is the same thing. I made this post just to see if people think its a scam and also what I should look out for when looking to buy this car.
Thanks man
