New folk checking in, trans question, and thanks
New to posting but we’ve lurked on and off for years. Thank you all for participating here and sharing info - it’s proven invaluable for us. Many thanks.
Current: 2012 C63 Coupe, Perf Pack
Former: 2012 C63 Coupe, Perf Pack and 2015 507
Old 12’ was our fav but we got creamed in a t-bone. Big sad. But back in action. Going through the new rig; brakes incl rotors and flush, ps res and flush, trans service, filters, pulleys, belt, clean up, headers, tune, and anything else we come across.
The odd question: anyone have a photo from their last transmission service? The fluid condition was not as I would have expected. Magnet debris was acceptable. Curious what’s “normal” presentation for old trans fluid. (Coming from old trucks, powerstroke, and general redneck maintenance).
PS fluid was typically filthy.
Side note:
picked up a QuickJack because I’ll be swapping multiple PITA cars in/out of garage… so far we love it. Couldn’t be further from mechanics but this C is absolutely the least friendly vehicle in our fleet to lift. Definitely don’t dig the jack point design (subjective, or course).

Best of luck! I felt very spoiled using these after many prior jobs with floor jacks and gravel 🥴

My experience was that the QuickJack was not quite long enough to accommodate 100% contact @ the C63. I wound up justifying the jacks forward ever so slightly, which gave full contact at the front perch and 50-60% at the rear - plenty stable. I opted not to use the jack pads that “fit” the car, though they’re on the shelf if you find that they worked well for you. (Just a single, tall QuickJack pad at each corner)

Yep. I wasn’t comfortable with where the pucks were sitting. I’ll have the rig out and up again next week and will size things up again - it’s possible I just missed something obvious in the setup but as things sat, the pucks gave me a bad feeling. Secondary/safety stand and jack placed during work, and the vehicle was very stable given a pretty honest “shove and rock” test from a less than petite person.

That’s what pretty much everyone already does as far as I can tell. Who has time to hunt around for the Mercedes “pucks”, it just doesn’t matter. Flat rubber blocks are fine. The car isn’t going to go anywhere as long as you’re smart about placement.

thanks, blkrokt. I think I had (perhaps incorrectly) assumed that the Mercedes pucks are necessary for proper weight distribution while lifting the car but perhaps they are only for stability and the full weight of the vehicle can actually be supported by the outer rim of the jack points. This would make my life a lot easier bc I could just use the rubber blocks that came with the quickjack

Hey, I recently acquired one of these and test fit without jacking and it seemed to be rather quality in fit.
I understand that $200-300 bucks depending on how many you get may not be worth it but to each their own.

I went with these, and they work fine. They snap into the MB lift point so that you can line up easily.
