Confirmed by Toronto Dealer - 4matic will be standard

I was in a Toronto dealer last night. At least in Canada they confirmed that 4Matic will be standard at launch.

That makes a lot of sense in Canada.

I was told last night to expect the usual Edition 1 type of thing for Canada. Launch Edition. Makes sense, they do it for other models when they come out.

As for the new C Class, it will be in showrooms in Canada in about a week. I did not go to the autoshow, and so I have not seen the car in person yet.

The other interesting comment I got was something about having a gear level, but like you would find on an SLS and CLS AMG63. Not the type on the current C63. Hmmm. We have not seen that in the pics. And I guess anything is possible given the E class had a steering wheel column shifter, but the E63 has a gear level. Keeping the gear level makes more sense really.

I hope this is true so I can rub it in the face of certain people with a piece of sandpaper.
But, my fear is that the typical stupid dealer was referring to the C-class in general that is launching as AWD only.

If the C63 gets AWD, I will buy one.
But, it also needs a DCT to be a world class car in 2015.

Cars.
In order to put the power down effectively, the C63 honestly will need AWD. I'll still buy one even if it's RWD. Tail wagging hooliganism.

P.S. I'm still skeptical. Tobias Moers has already told us no 4Matic. It will be interesting to see 4Matic come with the C63.

Why in the WORLD would anyone looking to "hoon" with a RWD car buy a OVERWEIGHT LUXURY SEDAN over a lightweight RWD coupe ?????
It just makes zero sense.
I haven't even loved my cars as much anymore since I've started riding 1000cc bikes. It's all about power to weight when you want to "hoon" and have fun.

I want an AWD + DCT C63 for a comfortable daily driver that also happens to offer some respectable performance.

News Flash, you can hoon a rear wheel drive C63 and shred it's tires. The W204 was really good at it. Why? Because you can. No other reason needed.

The standard C-Class will have 4MATIC.

Anyone that wants to wager whether the W205 C63 will have it, I have PayPal and will put $5k on the line. That $5k says no 4MATIC. Any takers?

Hmmm . . . heavier RWD car for hooning?

Chris Harris doesn't know how to hoon. Oh, wait . . .

I drove a 2015 c-class yesterday. Really great car ... 4-matic ... but I think they all are. The transmission has many modes just like the amg cars (this was a 300). I prefer either sport or sport plus. The car is a baby s class ... the big downer on the car is that the console is so wide that my knee hits it. I think I could get the seat far enough back to reduce that impact, but it would kill the rear leg room. I am only 5'10" and am not certain the lack of driver right leg knee room wouldn't kill it for a long trip.

Nope.
Just being able to finally get an AWD V8 TT sedan that weighs under 4,000 lbs.......along with the pleasure of rubbing it in your face like sandpaper.......
will be reward enough.

Wrong tool for that purpose. There are superior choices for hooning.
Anyone who tries to argue against that shows they are clueless or biased.

You find posts from educated and experienced people to be so intimidating that you need to try to censor them?
How pathetic.
As if a ban keeps people from posting if they really want to. LOL

You said you wanted to rub something in my face like sandpaper. What does that have to do with education and experience?

Whenever anyone says anything, you make personal attacks against them. I've tried to be nice to you but anytime I express an opinion contrary to one you hold, you just can't help but to make it personal.

There are several seriously experienced drivers on this board. They post their drag slip times, the results of their HPDEs, etc. You have yet to post anything that substantiates your claims of being "experienced."

By the way, "hooning" typically refers to driving a car sideways (power slides, drifting, etc.). Heavier, high-horsepower, RWD cars are suited perfectly for this type of driving.

A lightweight car can be driven to the limit but it's likely to be much tidier.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Usual suspects? What are you talking about? I'm a moderator on two other boards.

I think the moderators here do an excellent job and I respect all the MBWorld rules. I have never had a problem with anyone else here. I don't know why you continue to address my posts. If you don't have anything nice to say, and if you don't want to have a reasoned discussion, just leave people alone (me included).

Just speaking to owner of MB Dealer in the GTA. He says the C63 is RWD only.

I am ordering mine next week. I have a coupe but really need a four door.
