2015 AMG C63 not to be built in Alabama
Test driving a W204 C63 on Thursday to get an idea about the car. Obviously old technology and what not but want to see what all the hullabaloo is about with the MCT transmission. Having had several DCT cars(GTi and E90 M3) I'd be hard pressed to think that it'll be on the same playing field.
I am pretty sure that Thrilla gave you the correct information from a reliable source.

MB USA finally responded after they removed their comment. No European delivery available.
Was hoping 1) not to pay MSRP 2) get to the Nurburgring and SPA in the coming year before the whole financial situation surrounding the 'Ring could jeopardize the time I may actually be able to go drive on it. I didn't end up going for the test drive yesterday due to the rain in NYC and inability to get out of the office. Test driving a car in Manhattan
didn't seem too thrilling to begin with but would have done it. Definitely had my heart set on the W205 C63 but appears the M3 is the way to go for me for the next 4-5 years. Unlike last time, I won't sell my M3 16 months later for a Porsche Cayenne S.Here was my European Delivery on the 2011.5 ZCP M3:

I would buy what I wanted regardless
What matters is the design, it can be built anywhere as long as qa/ac is good
If the car was fully assembled by robots, and the tolerances were checked by robots and the robots serviced the robots, then I wouldn't mind. However, if Mercedes decides to build there Halo cars outside of Affalterbach, I'll take a pass. You too, Acura NSX!
I've toured German assembly plants and there is a reason their cars are awesome. The people assembling them care, and take great pride in their work and product. They are perfectionists by nature. Can the same be said for Tuscaloosa, Alabama?
You don't know the difference between that plant and any of the others around the world.
I would agree with Ingenieur's point. However, if quality issues arrise from Tuscaloosa then obviously the build location would matter.
As to the OP, I don't think he cares about the car, he just wants the European delivery experience.
