Received US production date for C63 S coupe order. ETA for delivery?

Hi all. I placed an order for a 2017 C63 S coupe early May, and today received the est. production date of 2016/09/1D (first decade of Sept.). It shows current status of A4 (FINAL D/S). It also shows Decade Planned of 16/07-3; Decade Scheduled 16/09-1.

Any ideas how long production takes and ETA from that date to dealer delivery? I'm guessing 4-6 weeks? Thanks!

Well mine was due for a May 2016 build. Now I'm being told it may not be ready until early 2017 because Mercedes' head-up display supplier in Japan has suffered earthquake damage!

I was very disappointed and tried to order a car from other dealers around the country but all said they could not beat that delivery date.

For the coupe? That's a long time regardless. Sorry, man! I guess I should feel grateful for a Sept build date then. Any other US experiences on AMG C63 coupe orders so far?

This was for the sedan, and I'm in Australia. I'm still looking at my options because the price was negotiated based on an August delivery date.

I'm doing European Delivery and my pickup date is 9/5/16 (ordering from Mercedes of Boston). This date is not 100% confirmed yet, but they said it may be ready as early as late July/August. If I hear anything different, I'll let you guys know.

Interesting, I hope this doesn't impact on the coupe orders...

I put in my order for European Delivery through Fletcher Jones and they gave me an early September build date. Heads-up display is in the options list. It would have been mid August if it weren't for the heads-up.

Well... I reviewed my netstar order details and realized the dealer had left off the HUD option! My production date had been scheduled for first decade of Sept., but when he went to add the HUD in netstar today, it could not be added at all. Salesman said he talked to MB and was told the HUD option is unavailable from the factory at this time for any model. I'm hoping they can get their supply chain issues worked out so 1) this option can be added to my build; and 2) it doesn't push the production date further out than September.

I hope they can work it out for you. It would be a deal breaker for me as after getting use to the HUD I would not want to live without it.

Agree! After having it on my current car it's become a must-have!

A few things regarding US vehicle:

1) HUD has been removed due to the supplier issue. This is across all of the model line; not C63 specifically.

2) Tentative release date is late Summer. However, with the new strict EPA rules that can be delayed. We can thank VW for that.

3) Final pricing will not be released until closer towards model launch.

So when will we be able to purchase HUD again? Later in the year or no info yet? If thats the case I would think twice about building mine.

Just to confirm - HUD had been removed from my car too, I've been told that I would be waiting until September/October for a UK car (at least) if I insist on it. It isn't a massive problem as far as I'm concerned. I like having a HUD but it isn't essential.

HUD should be able to order before year end. Apparently, the supplier in China was put out of business due to a earthquake. This shortage affects all brands; not just MB.

I've heard nothing from my dealer regarding any delays relating to the HUD. Maybe it's because my scheduled pickup date at the factory is the first decade of September?

I would be extremely disappointed if I can't get this option. I'm ordering a fully loaded Coupe, and the HUD is a must-have for me (along with 360 degree camera).

I agree I wouldnt want to spend 100k+ on a loaded car and not get HUD if its something I wanted.

HUD is worth the wait.

Ok, I have an update on my build. They have confirmed European Delivery pickup on 9/5, but my build is NOT available to order with the HUD!

Here's something else new though regarding trims -- I'm also being told that the Black Ash Trim that's a standard option on the C63S is not currently available and that I need to pick a new trim. Given the options, I went with the H73 - Black Carbon Fiber.

Not thrilled about that and a little peeved to be honest having to spend $1k+ on trim I don't really want. The black ash trim was one of my favorite features of the interior. Don't get me wrong, I love carbon fiber trim, but I've had it in most of my previous cars and it's becoming a bit too flashy/old to my eyes. That open pore black ash trim is really incredible in person... maybe I will swap out the dash and some point if I ever really want it.

Anyway, just wanted to let you guys know that for my build, the HUD is NOT available. And now those of us who wanted black ash trim may need to look at other options... I've followed up with my salesman to see how long of a wait it would be until the HUD is available. Given that I'm ordering a fully-loaded Coupe, I don't want to purchase the car without this option (it's something I can't really live without).

Not happy about this...

My build includes the black ash trim as well, and this is the first I've heard of an issue getting that option. For me, this is a must have more important than the HUD. I'm losing confidence in MB and this process given their supply chain issues. Very disappointing.

Let us know if your dealer mentions anything about not being able to order the Black Ash trim. I'm honestly baffled by this because it's the standard no-cost trim that comes with the C63S!

I currently have the black ash trim in my sedan and have ordered the same on the Coupe - is a no cost option standard (in Australia).

The look and feel is amazing, not big on CF and the piano black catches way too much dust, finger prints and scratches which would drive most people insane.

Being a standard option for the sedan and coupe - I'm sure they will resolve this issue ASAP. As it will have a big impact on orders for both cars.

The open pore / black ash trim is no longer showing on the MB UK configurator for the C63.

£700 for carbon trim is a no go. Not worth it. This is going to throw a spanner in the works.

Problem is if you leave order as is, you will not get the IWC clock.

I'm not happy.
